Your card is so adorable with that cute little hatching chick on it. A great idea for a baby card with the onesie design.

Build A Flower

Build A Flower 811

Anne here and today I’m showcasing this fun new set called Build A Flower that was revealed this month. There are so many different combinations that can be used – long and tall, short and squat, single flower…. and the list goes on and on ūüėÄ.  This would be a really fun stamp set to decorate the side of a scrapbook page too or create a fun frame around a photo.

As you can tell, I decided to go long and tall. I began by stamping the flower pot and then masking it so I could stamp the stems. Then I used the smaller blossom stamp to add flowers to the stems. Finally, the leaves were added. I also stamped the flowers and leaves on plain cardstock so I could fussy cut them out and adhere them on top of the ones on the main image. Everything was then colored with my Copic markers.

I had originally stamped everything onto white cardstock. Once everything was coming together, I decided that I didn’t want it white, nor did I want to color all that white space with Copics. I created a mask of the entire stamped image by photocopying it on my printer and then fussy cutting that out.

I recommend that you do the photocopying before adding the glitter to the base flowers though, otherwise, you might get glitter on your printer glass (ask me how I know this ūüėú.) Once my mask was ready, I adhered it with some temporary double sided tape and then lightly spritzed the entire area with Memories Mist (Pale Ale). A nice side effect was that it gave my mask a nice sepia look, which could always be used on a future project.

Build A Flower 811

I added Purple Dust glitter to the veins and out sie edges of my flowers. I also outlined the outside edges of the flowers on the main image with glue and covered them with Purple Dust glitter as well. that way, when I added my offset blossoms, everything would be sparkly. Dimensional glue was added to the centers of the flowers and covered with Evening Glow glitter.

The sentiment, which comes with the stamp set was heat embossed with Amethyst embossing powder. The black frame around my image is a die cut from Impression Obsession (All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2). In order to make it into a square, I took one of the frames that fit my sentiment, cut it in the center and adhered the ends together. To make the seams less noticeabBuild A Flower 811le, I heat set the frame with Ebony Spark embossing powder.  This also gave the frame a subtle bit of sparkle.

The bee is part of a retired die from Die-Versions (Wee Petites – Buggy). I die cut him from white cardstock and colored him with Copic markers. Glue was added to the inside of his wings and covered with Starfire glitter.

The die cuts that border the sides of the focal point are from Tonic Studios and is actually a Christmas die (Christmas Strips – Merry Christmas die set)! I cut off the parts that I wanted, covered them with VersaMark and heat set each of them with Sparkle embossing powder. Although the camera didn’t capture the subtle sparkle of these die cuts, you can definitely see it in person. A bit of Mon Ami Gabby ribbon are the finishing touches.

Spring Bunny

Hello friends!

It’s Designer Jess here today with another fun Easter card!

Supply List:

This card was super fun to make and came together quite quickly. There is a lot of embossing, so let’s get going!

 Card Instructions

To start with, I did my embossing on the outside edges of both the pink layer, green layer and cardbase. What I did was take the main image stamp and used the bottom portion (the flowers, eggs and grass) and used it to stamp all along the edges of the panels!  I used Versamark Ink and then sprinkled on my Embossing Powders!  I used Rosa Embossing Powder on the pink layer and cardbase. Pineapple Embossing Powder was used on the green layer.
To make the doily, I covered the entire white doily with Versamark Ink and sprinkled on Princess Rose Embossing Powder, heat setting of course! ūüôā

Once I was done with all those parts, I set those pieces aside and started on my main image. ¬†I stamped the image onto white cardstock using Versamark Ink, sprinkled on Black Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. ¬†For coloring, I grabbed my Watercolor Pencils, an aquapainter and went to work! ¬†I am still an amateur with coloring, but I think I’m improving ūüôā

The image was fussy cut out after it was dry (TIP: Use a heat gun to speed up drying time!).  I covered the entire image in Versamark Ink, sprinkled on Clear Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. It created such a gorgeous shine!

The sentiment was stamped onto some white cardstock using Versamark Ink. I embossed with Black Detail Embossing powder. I actually separated the sentiment in half and did a swash of watercolor on the background too.

 Putting It All Together

To start assembly, I used the Large Nuvo Glue Pen to adhere the embossed doily to the pink layer. The pink layer was attached to the green layer using 1/2″ Tear-ific Tape.I popped the fussy cut focal image up with some Foam Squares.

¬†I also created a fun “grass” border simply by cutting a 1″ strip of green cardstock randomly and bending them a bit. Fun, right? ¬†I realized after that I should have grabbed my Grassy Green Flocking to add to the dimension – next time! The border was also attached using 1/4″ Tear-ific Tape. I tied a bit of bakers twine around the panel for added fun.

The entire panel was adhered to the card base using 1/2″ Tear-ific Tape. ¬†I used a mini-stapler to attach a bit of frayed bakers twine behind the sentiments and popped them ofn using Foam Squares.¬†

I hope you enjoy this card! ¬†Don’t forget to grab your fave SNS products from the shop!

Until next time,

Jess

Festive Lantern

Festive Lantern 808

Anne here with today’s blog post.  The Festive Lantern stamp set is one of seven new sets released by Sparkle N Sprinkle this month. This set includes three stamps: the lantern, the poinsettia cluster, and a sentiment. That way you can mix and match. For my project, I used the lantern and the poinsettia cluster. Both were colored with Copic markers.

To start out, I stamped the lantern image with VersaMark and then covered it with Copper Flame embossing powder. After heat setting from the bottom (this is a chunky embossing powder) and letting it cool, I then sprinkled some Coffee embossing powder on top of the Copper Flame. This gave it a great two-toned aged look. Finally, I fussy cut out the open areas of the lantern so that my background would show through (just like a real lantern).

festive-lantern1-sns

The poinsettia cluster was stamped with a light ink so that the lines of the stamp would blend into the colored areas. After fussy cutting this cluster out, I added Sunny Daze glitter to the centers of the poinsettias and outlined the leaves with Lavender Iris glitter. This was then adhered to the base of the lantern with pop dots. Lavender Iris glitter was also added to the candle flame.

The background is a die cut from Sue Wilson Designs (Festive Collection – Snowflake Background) that I covered with VersaMark and then heat set with White Spark embossing powder. With this particular die, you can leave the oval in the center solid. I wanted this to have a yellow glow from the “candle”, so I colored that portion of the embossing powder with a marker.

The next layer was dry embossed using a Tonic Studio embossing folder (Simple Stripes). This is an 8″ x 8″ folder with a “frame” around the outside edge, so you’ll want to be careful where you place your cardstock. That way the parts you want to get embossed will. :-). All of these layers were adhered to the white card base using Tear-ific Tape.

A strip of ribbon and my die cut sentiment are the final touches. The sentiment was created from a Die-Versions Sweet Wordlets (Merry Christmas) die. To add sparkle and shimmer the sentiment, I added a bit of VersaMark to a scrap piece of paper, heat embossed Sparkle embossing powder, and then die cut the words. For me, this is a quicker way to get bling on a smaller die cut instead of doing it after they have been die cut.

Puppy Girl

Puppy Girl 793

Anne here and for today’s card, I used the digi version of the new Puppy Girl stamp set just released. I printed the image twice. After coloring the image with Copic markers, I fussy cut out the puppy and the bow in the girl’s hair so that I could pop dot them on top of the main image for more dimension. Pan Pastels were used for the background color. The sentiment is part of the stamp set and I added a bit of color to the open spaces in the letters to emphasize the words “person” and “dog”.

Elephant Gray flock was added to the whiskers Puppy Girl 793on the pup and Neon Flamingo glitter was added to all the bows and the knee patch.

Puppy Girl 793

Seaspray glitter was used to decorate her top shirt as well as the frame around the image. Dimensional foam was also added to the frame. The frame is a Simon Says Stamp die cut (Stitched Rectangles).

The die cut bow on the bottom of the frame is by Poppy Stamps (Bow and String) and was covered with Neon Flamingo glitter. Once the glue was dry on this bow, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops (Ebony Black) to replicate the bows in the image.

Pool Friends Shaker Card

Hello friends!
IMG_0303
Hi there! ¬†It’s Designer Jess back today¬†with a new card.
¬†This time, I used the new release stamp set called “Pool Friends” to create a fun shaker card! ¬†Let’s go!

SparkleNSprinkle Supply List:

Step 1:
Stamp image onto white cardstock using Memento Ink and color. I used our Pearlescent Watercolors and an aquabrush to paint mine.
IMG_0187

Step 2:
Create your “window”. ¬†To start, I took a 4×5.25 piece of blue cardstock and used an embossing folder to add some dimension. ¬†I took a second piece of the same sized blue cardstock and cut out the window using an oval die & my Big Shot machine. ¬†I cut a piece of Embossable Acetate to 4X5.25. ¬†The colored image was centered where I wanted it to show through and adhered using 1/4″ Tearific Tape to the background piece. ¬†Next, I attached my Embossable Acetate to the underside of the “window” piece using 1/4″ Tearific tape. ¬†

I added the Foam roll all around the very outside edge of the base (I cut the roll in half to make it skinnier so it wouldn’t “peek” into my window. ¬†I added my sequins and then attached the top panel carefully so the Foam Roll wouldn’t show through. So far, so good!
IMG_0301
Step 3: Embellish!
I stamped out 5 beach balls using Memento Ink, watercolored and fussy cut them out. ¬†To add more sparkle, ¬†I took my Quicky Glue Pen and added some Margarita Glitter to some of the beach balls. ¬†I stamped out the drinks & sentiment and followed the same procedure (watercolor, Margarita Glitter and trim). I adhered the sentiment and some of the beachballs using Foam Squares (adds dimension!) and the rest was adhered using Tear-ific Tape. I also added a piece of pull ribbon to the sentiment using a mini stapler. I didn’t pull it, just cut a small piece and formed a small loop.

Finally, I doodled around the outside edge using my Quicky Glue Pen and sprinkled on Margarita Glitter. ¬†The entire “shaker” was then adhered to a piece of 4.25X5.5 Zeus Gold Cardstock using 1/2″ Tearific Tape. ¬†

See how simple a shaker card can be?

I hope you enjoy this card and pick up some of the supplies I used to create it from the shop.

Until next time,

Jess

Stella – Happy Meds

Stella Happy Meds 796

Anne here and today I’m sharing a card created with one of the new stamp sets revealed this month: Stella – Happy Meds. ¬†This image should definitely make you smile. ūüôā

After stamping the image and coloring it with Copic markers, I added Dimensional Glue and Sunny Daze glitter to various letters. I also outlined other words with a red Multi-liner to make them pop a bit more. The pink pills and Stella’s glasses were covered with Glossy Accents for a real shine.

Stella - Happy Meds1

To create the mat, I used the lacy background technique with Sticker Paper, lace, and Sunny Daze and Blue Haze glitters. This is such an easy and fun technique and with so many variations, depending on the style of lace and the colors of glitter you use. For some reason, this one reminds me of a leopard print, even though the colors are different.

For embellishments, I created my own glitter ribbon using 1/2″ Tear-ific tape and Blue Haze glitter and added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops (Navy Blue) as accents. Crystal Drops also accent the corners of my lacy background. The background matting behind the focal point was dry embossed with a Crafters Companion embossing folder (Hessian) for a bit of texture.

Visit our blog often to see what the rest of the team has created using all the newly released stamp sets.
