Good morning all and Happy New Year!!! It’s designer Belinda here to share a cute Easter card with you today using the new Easter Chicky stamp set. I choose to use the digi version of this stamp set for my card.
To create my card base I used Spellbinder’s Radiant Rectangle dies. For the white and yellow background pieces they were cut using sticker paper, glittered with Sparkling Snow and Sunny Daze. The images were then resized and printed out. I did print 2 of the row of flowers and cut all of them out using my Silhouette. Sparkle was added to all of the images using the Nuvo Small Glue Pen and Sparkling Snow glitter. Small drops of Dandelion and Green Apple Crystal Drops were added to the flowers.
The 2nd row of flowers were placed on top of the chick using foam dots. A 2nd flower for the top of the egg shell was printed, cut out and placed on top of the egg using foam dots. Using the small glue pen along the edges of the sentiment, Hyacinth glitter was added. I really love this cute stamp it will be perfect for your Easter cards.
Be sure to visit the store to see all the new stamp sets you will love them all!!
Thanks so much for stopping by have a wonderful day, see you soon!
Hi, Diane with you today to share with you a tutorial of sorts for
my ‘Double Z’ fold card using the new stamp set
This card is really very easy to do and I will give you simple
directions, but there are great tutorials on youtube for it as well.
You want to start with an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock.
Cut one piece 4 1/4″ x 11″
Score this piece (with the 11″ piece along the top)
at 2 3/4″ and at 5 1/2″ (this is the main base of the card)
Cut the next piece 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Score this piece (with the 8 1/2″ piece along the top)
at 2 1/8″ and at 4 1/4″.
Fold as I have shown below.
Next you want to cut some pretty paper ‘cover’ pieces.
For the larger Z part of the card,
cut 1 at 4″ x 5 1/4″
and cut 2 pieces at 2 1/2″ x 4″
For the smaller part of the Z card,
Cut 1 at 3 1/4″ x 4″
and cut 2 pieces at 1 7/8″ x 3 1/4″
adhere to each z panel as shown
Using the photo below for reference, attach the smaller z panel to the larger z panel
Now we will make leaves for our card using a Mini Mister,
watercolor paper and the colors of Nuance listed below.
Spray your watercolor paper with water, lightly tap on the nuance color,
spray a bit more and repeat until you are happy with the colors
Once dry, cut out the leaves with your desired dies
(I used Impression Obsession small Leaves Dies)
I colored the Autumn Girlfriends image with Copics,
then applying a bit of glue with Nuvo Small glue pen,
I added Fall Leaves Glitter to the image leaves.
I then attached my ‘Nuance” colored leaves.
I stamped the rake and the sentiment with Versamark,
then embossed with Gold Fine Detail embossing powder.
I used Spellbinders Label Four to cut out the sentiment.
I also stamped the basket of leaves and used the same
Fall Leaves glitter as I used above.
I hope you will give one of these double z folds a try as they are really fun
and turn out so beautifully!
Thank you for visiting with me today!
Happy Sunday!! Diane with you today
with a gorgeous new stamp set called
I love flowers and this stamp set is any
I started out with a pretty simple technique,
stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then coloring in with Copics.
I die cut the image using Spellbinders ‘ Define Elegance” die.
Once die cut, I added Bubblegum Glitter to the umbrella ruffled edge.
Then using Sticker Paper,I adhered the entire piece down.
I hand cut the remainder of the Sticker Paper away.
Using my ‘finger tool’, I added Cloud Nine glitter to the exposed
The panel was then adhered with Tear-ific Tape 1/4″
to a DCWV Mixed Media burlap paper.
Thank you for visiting with me today!
Good morning all, hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!! It’s Belinda here to share a card with you using the new Wetlands #1 stamp set. I just love this set, so many ways to use this stamp. The card base was created using Sizzix’s honeycomb embossing folder and Spellbinder’s Radiant Rectangles. A strip of 1/2″ Tear-ific tape was placed on the edges of the card base. The protective backing was removed and covered with Black Suede glitter. The sentiment was stamp onto a piece of left over background paper.
To start my card I need to create my background.
Using my large acrylic block as my stamp , I applied distress inks to the block and misted with water. I stamped onto a piece of watercolor paper to create my sunset background. Love the use of the block as a stamp.
Next it was time to stamp the images, I inked the stamp with versamark and then re inked with black ink. Clear embossing powder was applied to the images and heat set.
The bird was inked using the same technique and fussy cut out. Sparkle was added to the water using a glue pen and Sparkling Snow glitter.
Hope you will stop by to see all of the newly released stamp sets they are just beautiful!!
See you soon,
A rose is one of my favorite flowers and since I am in Omaha right now, visiting with my mother, I am really enjoying all her roses. She has so many bushes and even climbing roses. She also has some lovely pink wild roses. There is something about their delicate look that is so appealing. I tried to tie that into today’s card featuring the Wild Rose set and simple white layers with elegant lines.
I started with a white layer with the right side punched by a border punch. A piece of sticker paper was layered behind it and Ballerina Velvet Glitter was added. This was layered on the white card base.
The Wild Rose image was stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper and colored with Zig Watercolor Markers. The sentiment was stamped beneath the image and this was die cut with a Spellbinders’ Labels Seventeen Etched Die and layered on top of a slightly larger white die cut and added to the card front. Dots of Sunny Daze Glitter was added to the flower centers, using a glue pen.
Along with this lovely floral image, this set comes with four sentiments making it great to use for a variety of occasions.
A template was created, using Spellbinders’ Circle Nestability Dies. This was layered on the card front and the circular area was covered with Versamark Ink and then heat set with Candlelight Embossing Powder. The Small Bird Flourish chipboard was also covered with Versamark Ink, then Poolside Embossing Powder, and heat set. It was adhered over the embossed circle.
The sentiment was heat embossed with Candlelight EP and then Versamark Ink was added to the outer edges of the cardfront and more Candlelight EP added and heat set. The second layer is also heat embossed along the edges but this time I covered more area and used Poolside EP. Because this embossing powder is semi-translucent, it appears lighter on white cardstock than on the chipboard.
Have a wonderful week and watch for more chipboard ideas from my fellow designers.
E. Marie here to share a little project that makes a great gift for anyone. I seem to catch everything from my little kindergarteners this year and have been sick constantly. This must be why I was so attracted to this adorable Pocket Tissue Holder and just had to make one and share.
The base is a strip of blue cardstock measuring 11” x 4 ¼”, scored along the 11” side at ½”, 3”, 4”, and 6 ½”. Decorative paper was cut into three pieces measuring 3/4″ x 4″ (front strip), 2 1/4″ x 4″ (top area), and 3 1/4″ x 4″ (backing area). A corner rounder was used on the base piece and backing piece. This easily folds up around a pocket size package of tissues.
The sentiment from the Bugs in a Jar Stamp Set was stamped with Distress Ink and layered on the front edge.
I used two sizes of Spellbinders’ Oval Nestability Dies to create the frame opening for the tissues, but you can also use different punches.
The cute little bug on the back section is also from the Bugs in a Jar set. It was stamped four times, twice on white cardstock and twice on top of Glistening Emerald Sparkle N Soft that was added to Tear-fic Tape on white cardstock. One on white cardstock was die cut with Spellbinders Circle die and layered on a blue Nellie Snellen Bloem Multi Frame. One of the Sparkle N Soft images was fussy cut and layered on the base one. The eyes and eye lids were cut from the remaining two images and layered on top to give some dimension. Dogwood Rose Velvet Glitter was added to the antennas with a glue pen. The Feel Better Soon from the Just For You Stamp Set was stamped and die cut. Both the image and saying were popped up with dimensionals.
This is such a perfect little gift to give someone that is not feeling well or even for a teacher gift. The images used can be cute and fun, like I used, or much more elegant. I found this project at Splitcoast Stampers where they provide a complete tutorial.
Creating the background
Using Metallic Mint, Metallic Blueberry and Yellow gelatos, I smeared them onto my craft and lightly misted with water.
Watercolor paper was then placed on top of the colors. The paper was removed and dried using my heat tool.
Once the paper was dry I placed the paper back on top of the remaining color and repeated the drying steps.
The colors and shimmer of the metallic gelatos are so pretty!
Next step was to create the pretty butterfly using the products from the above picture.
The butterfly was die cut using white cardstock and and super adhesive paper. Then it was time for the fun of adding the glitter.
I removed the outline of the butterfly and glittered using the new Chameleon glitter.
Next I removed the areas that I wanted to be glittered with new Enlightened glitter. This is a beautiful blue color!!
I removed all the remaining area, except the circles and ovals. These were glittered with Hyacinth glitter. This is a new glitter also and it is just gorgeous! The remaining pieces were removed and glittered using Cloud Nine glitter.
Covering only parts of the chipboard with the Pineapple EP, I heat set.
hope you can see how pretty these embossing powders are.
The lattice was die cut using Spellbinders Grateful Lattice and placed on top of the background paper. The chipboard was placed on top of the lattice and the butterfly was adhered to the chipboard using a foam dots.
Want2Scrap pearls were added to the center of the butterfly.
Using a piece of leftover background paper the sentiment was stamped using the Thinking of You stamp set, and fussy cut out.
Thanks so much for stopping, have a wonderful day!
To create my easel card I used Spellbinder’s Majestic Labels Twenty Five. The first panel was die from white cardstock and super adhesive sheets. Once die cut the backing was removed and the opening were glittered using Sparkling Snow glitter. The next layer was die cut using green cardstock and placed on top of a piece of sticker paper and the openings glittered using Sparkling Snow.
The thanks sentiment was printed and die cut. The 3 layers adhere to the card base using pop dots. Vellum flowers and leaves were placed using pop dots. A small Mon Ami Gabby Silver Pull Ribbon was added behind the flowers.
For the inside of the card the smaller 2 oval was die cut and the steps were repeated using sticker paper and glitter. The ovals were then layered together using pop dots. Small vellum flowers and a bow were added.
A look at the card closed.
Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!
