Build A Flower

Build A Flower 811

Anne here and today I’m showcasing this fun new set called Build A Flower that was revealed this month. There are so many different combinations that can be used – long and tall, short and squat, single flower…. and the list goes on and on ūüėÄ.  This would be a really fun stamp set to decorate the side of a scrapbook page too or create a fun frame around a photo.

As you can tell, I decided to go long and tall. I began by stamping the flower pot and then masking it so I could stamp the stems. Then I used the smaller blossom stamp to add flowers to the stems. Finally, the leaves were added. I also stamped the flowers and leaves on plain cardstock so I could fussy cut them out and adhere them on top of the ones on the main image. Everything was then colored with my Copic markers.

I had originally stamped everything onto white cardstock. Once everything was coming together, I decided that I didn’t want it white, nor did I want to color all that white space with Copics. I created a mask of the entire stamped image by photocopying it on my printer and then fussy cutting that out.

I recommend that you do the photocopying before adding the glitter to the base flowers though, otherwise, you might get glitter on your printer glass (ask me how I know this ūüėú.) Once my mask was ready, I adhered it with some temporary double sided tape and then lightly spritzed the entire area with Memories Mist (Pale Ale). A nice side effect was that it gave my mask a nice sepia look, which could always be used on a future project.

Build A Flower 811

I added Purple Dust glitter to the veins and out sie edges of my flowers. I also outlined the outside edges of the flowers on the main image with glue and covered them with Purple Dust glitter as well. that way, when I added my offset blossoms, everything would be sparkly. Dimensional glue was added to the centers of the flowers and covered with Evening Glow glitter.

The sentiment, which comes with the stamp set was heat embossed with Amethyst embossing powder. The black frame around my image is a die cut from Impression Obsession (All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2). In order to make it into a square, I took one of the frames that fit my sentiment, cut it in the center and adhered the ends together. To make the seams less noticeabBuild A Flower 811le, I heat set the frame with Ebony Spark embossing powder.  This also gave the frame a subtle bit of sparkle.

The bee is part of a retired die from Die-Versions (Wee Petites – Buggy). I die cut him from white cardstock and colored him with Copic markers. Glue was added to the inside of his wings and covered with Starfire glitter.

The die cuts that border the sides of the focal point are from Tonic Studios and is actually a Christmas die (Christmas Strips – Merry Christmas die set)! I cut off the parts that I wanted, covered them with VersaMark and heat set each of them with Sparkle embossing powder. Although the camera didn’t capture the subtle sparkle of these die cuts, you can definitely see it in person. A bit of Mon Ami Gabby ribbon are the finishing touches.

Wishing Ewe a Wonderful Day

Will Ewe Be Mine 813

Anne here on the blog today and I’m featuring the new Will Ewe Be Mine stamp set released this month. There are several different sentiments, so it’s for more than just for Valentine’s. I combined two of the sentiments for an all-occasion type of card.

Will Ewe Be Mine 813

I stamped the image twice so I could fussy cut out their heads and pop dot them onto the main image. These cute guys were colored with Copic markers and the hearts and string were outlined with a red Copic multiliner before being covered with Neon Flamingo glitter.

The image was then die cut using the new Sizzix/Tim Holtz Snowglobe die set. The strip at the bottom of the globe and the outside edge of the globe was covered with Cloud Nine velvet glitter.

As I mentioned before, I used two of the sentiments and stamped them together on one line. The stamps were stamped with Memento Ink (Rose Bud) and then quickly covered with Clear Detail embossing powder. Even though this is a dye ink, if you act quick enough, you can heat emboss with it. (Have you container of embossing powder open and ready to pour as soon as you’ve stamped!)

Will Ewe Be Mine 813

The sentiment was then die cut using the Fishtail Flags die from My Favorite Things. I also added a couple of pop dots under the die cut and wrapped a strip of 1/8″ Tear-ific Tape around the end. I added more Neon Flamingo glitter to the top and used the tape that was wrapped underneath the flag to adhere to the card base.

Winter Birdhouse

Winter Bird House 803

Anne here and today I’m showcasing the new Winter Birdhouse stamp sets.  It is one of the new Bugaboo stamp sets released from Sparkle N Sprinkle this month. This was so much fun to color with my Copic markers.

winter-birdhouse1-sns

A Spellbinders die (Labels Twenty-Five) was used to die cut the image. Nuvo Crystal and Glitter Drops were used to accent various areas on the image. White Blizzard was applied to the snow and icicles; a double application of Morning Dew was added to the ornaments (let dry between applications); Ruby Slippers to the pom-pom on the bird’s pink hat and Bubble Gum glitter was adhered to the body of the hat.

For the next layer, I used the new Nuvo Glimmer Paste (Blue Topaz). If you haven’t used this product yet, you should definitely put it on your wish/want/NEED list :-). I love using embossing paste, but this is so much easier (even though embossing paste is easy to use) and so fun to use. (It’s really hard to describe.)

I placed a The Crafters Workshop stencil (Mini Aboriginal) onto white cardstock and then covered it with Blue Topaz glimmer paste. After it was dry, I spritzed the cardstock with Dylusions Ink Spray (Lemon Zest). The glimmer paste acted like a resist and wasn’t effected. This was die cut using the same Spellbinders die and then cut into thirds. Tear-ific Tape was used to adhere all the layers together.

winter-birdhouse2-sns

The sentiment is from a different Bugaboo rubber stamp set, Deer Duo. I added more Blue Topaz to a white circle and let that dry. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Deer Duo set with Archival Ink onto the glimmer paste. I used a marker to color in the letters on the ornaments (STOP). This was pop-dotted for added dimension.

Festive Lantern

Festive Lantern 808

Anne here with today’s blog post.  The Festive Lantern stamp set is one of seven new sets released by Sparkle N Sprinkle this month. This set includes three stamps: the lantern, the poinsettia cluster, and a sentiment. That way you can mix and match. For my project, I used the lantern and the poinsettia cluster. Both were colored with Copic markers.

To start out, I stamped the lantern image with VersaMark and then covered it with Copper Flame embossing powder. After heat setting from the bottom (this is a chunky embossing powder) and letting it cool, I then sprinkled some Coffee embossing powder on top of the Copper Flame. This gave it a great two-toned aged look. Finally, I fussy cut out the open areas of the lantern so that my background would show through (just like a real lantern).

festive-lantern1-sns

The poinsettia cluster was stamped with a light ink so that the lines of the stamp would blend into the colored areas. After fussy cutting this cluster out, I added Sunny Daze glitter to the centers of the poinsettias and outlined the leaves with Lavender Iris glitter. This was then adhered to the base of the lantern with pop dots. Lavender Iris glitter was also added to the candle flame.

The background is a die cut from Sue Wilson Designs (Festive Collection – Snowflake Background) that I covered with VersaMark and then heat set with White Spark embossing powder. With this particular die, you can leave the oval in the center solid. I wanted this to have a yellow glow from the “candle”, so I colored that portion of the embossing powder with a marker.

The next layer was dry embossed using a Tonic Studio embossing folder (Simple Stripes). This is an 8″ x 8″ folder with a “frame” around the outside edge, so you’ll want to be careful where you place your cardstock. That way the parts you want to get embossed will. :-). All of these layers were adhered to the white card base using Tear-ific Tape.

A strip of ribbon and my die cut sentiment are the final touches. The sentiment was created from a Die-Versions Sweet Wordlets (Merry Christmas) die. To add sparkle and shimmer the sentiment, I added a bit of VersaMark to a scrap piece of paper, heat embossed Sparkle embossing powder, and then die cut the words. For me, this is a quicker way to get bling on a smaller die cut instead of doing it after they have been die cut.

Merry Christmas Shaker Card

Good morning all, it’s Belinda here to share a shaker card with you using the new Christmas Tag #1 stamp set!! ¬†Hope you all are having a great week.

Christmas Tag #1

To create this sparkly background I used different sizes of Tear-ific Tape, Emerald Green, Gypsy Red, and Champagne glitter.

background

The tape was placed on the cardstock at a diagonal.  Randomly remove the backing and applied glitter one color at a time.

Christmas Tag #1

The image was stamped and colored with copic markers.  Using Nuvo Small Glue Pen, Margarita and Silver Dream glitter was added to the image. White foam and clear acetate was die cut using Spellbinders Circle dies. Embellishments were added to the shaker.

Christmas Tag #1

A second circle frame was cut from sticker paper and glitter using Champagne glitter.  This was placed on top of the shaker.  A snowflake was die cut and placed behind the shaker.  The shaker was adhered to the card background.  A small Green Pull Ribbon was placed at the bottom of the shaker and a small drop of Ruby Slippers Crystal Drops was placed in the center.

Thanks so much for stopping by I hope you have a great rest of the week!!

Fruit Note

fruit-notes-sns

Anne here to share with you a card I create using the new digi-only stamp set that debuted in September. ¬†I think it’s a very versatile set as it has multiple sentiments included in the set, or you can leave that area blank and add your own message.

fruit-notes1-sns

The digi image was colored with Copic markers and touches of glitter was added to the wheat stalks (Golden Wheat) and the grapes (Orchid). I also die cut a couple wheat stalks from Tonic Studios (September Harvest die set) and more Golden Wheat velvet glitter was adhered to the inside layer.

1/2″ Tear-ific Tape was added underneath the ribbon and covered with Golden Wheat velvet glitter.

Be sure to visit often to see what the rest of the team has created for you.  If you would like to leave a comment on any of the posts, click on the title of the post and oncethe page refreshes, a comment box will be located at the bottom of the post.  Thanks for taking the time (and extra step) to leave comments.  We all appreciate them.

Autumn Girlfriends

Hi, Diane with you today to share with you a tutorial of sorts for

my ‘Double Z’ fold card using the new stamp set

Autumn Girlfriends.

This card is really very easy to do and I will give you simple

directions, but there are great tutorials on youtube for it as well.

Autumn Girlfriends

You want to start with an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of card stock.

Cut one piece 4 1/4″ x 11″

Score this piece (with the 11″ piece along the top)

at 2 3/4″ and at 5 1/2″ (this is the main base of the card)

Cut the next piece 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″

Score this piece (with the 8 1/2″ piece along the top)

at 2 1/8″ and at 4 1/4″.

Fold as I have shown below.

Autumn Girlfriends

Next you want to cut some pretty paper ‘cover’ pieces.

For the larger Z part of the card,

cut 1 at 4″ x 5 1/4″

and cut 2 pieces at 2 1/2″ x 4″

For the smaller part of the Z card,

Cut 1 at 3 1/4″ x 4″

and cut 2 pieces at 1 7/8″ x 3 1/4″

Autumn Girlfriends

Using Tear-ific 1/4″ Double Sided Tape,

adhere to each z panel as shown

Autumn Girlfriends

Using the photo below for reference, attach the smaller z panel to the larger z panel

Autumn Girlfriends

Now we will make leaves for our card using a Mini Mister,

watercolor paper and the colors of Nuance listed below.

Nuance Bright Yellow, Grass Green, Scarlet, and Orange.

Spray your watercolor paper with water, lightly tap on the nuance color,

spray a bit more and repeat until you are happy with the colors

Autumn Girlfriends

Once dry, cut out the leaves with your desired dies

(I used Impression Obsession small Leaves Dies)

Autumn Girlfriends

I colored the Autumn Girlfriends image with Copics,

then applying a bit of glue with Nuvo Small glue pen,

I added Fall Leaves Glitter to the image leaves.

I then attached my ‘Nuance” colored leaves.

Autumn Girlfriends

I stamped the rake and the sentiment with Versamark,

then embossed with Gold Fine Detail embossing powder.

I used Spellbinders Label Four to cut out the sentiment.

I also stamped the basket of leaves and used the same

Fall Leaves glitter as I used above.

Autumn Girlfriends

I hope you will give one of these double z folds a try as they are really fun

and turn out so beautifully!

Thank you for visiting with me today!

Turkey Dishes and Holiday Wishes

Turkey Dish 801

Anne here and today I have a Thanksgiving card for you.  I used the digi version of Turkey Dish.

Turkey Dish 801The image was colored with Copic markers and various glitters were then added for lots of sparkle. ¬†Autumn Medley glitter was added to the autumn leaf in her hair as well as to the highlighted words on the sentiments. ¬†The glitter ribbon, which combines 1/8″, 1/4″, and 1/2″ Tear-ific Tape is also covered with Autumn Medley glitter.

Margarita velvet glitter was added to the green leaves on her hair decoration.  Rose Gold glitter accentuates her necklace as well as the buckles on her shoes and Sonic Silver velvet glitter creates a nice silver platter for this golden turkey to rest on.

Spellbinders Labels Twenty Eight were used to create the mats and Stampendous dies (Build A Pop-Up die set) were used for the sentiments.  The edges of all the white cardstock was given a bit of color using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.  The Distress Embossing technique was applied to the outside edge of the focal die cut using Sparkle embossing powder and Spiced Marmalade.
