Glitzy Drywall Tape Background by Marie Berquist

Supplies:

Cardstock

Adhesive Sheet

Drywall Tape

Permanent Ink

Glitter  OR Embossing Powder (see EP sample below)

Brayer

1.  Rub or sponge permanent ink over strips of drywall tape in desired colors.  Let dry.

2.  Add a piece of adhesive sheet to cardstock.  Remove the top protective layer and save.  Add the drywall tape to the adhesive sheet.

3.  Cover with glitter.

4.  Place the saved protective layer on top of the glitter, and use the brayer to roll across, burnishing the glitter into the exposed adhesive sheet under the dry wall tape.

5.  Remove excess glitter and use for a background or create an embellishment for your card. The result is dazzling and addictive!

Try using punches and dies to create wonderful embellishments!

Here is a sample using Embossing Powder instead of Glitter. Just click the thumbnail below for complete card details:

Watercolor Glitz
Instructions

  • Stamp an image with Stazon (or pigment ink).
  • Color the image using our Galaxy Markers but you don't put the Galaxy Markers directly on the image. Squiggle the marker on a piece of acrylic or glass or plastic and then take a brush dipped in water and pick up the color you've just squiggled and color your image using your new watercolor.
  • Using Sparkle N Sprinkle Brushable Glue, (99539a) unscrew the cap and pop the dispenser out of the bottle and dip your brush (same one used to color your image) into the bottle to get a little bit of glue and brush glue on a small area of the card at a time and then sprinkle glitter over glue.
  • Repeat that step many times until you have highlighted all the areas of the card with glitter. DON'T try to apply glitter to your whole piece. You will find that our glue dries too quickly.
