White Wash Technique by April Williams

This is a fantastic three step technique to add color to your images on a dark background.  It looks especially good on kraft cardstock.

Supplies needed:

  1. Dark Cardstock - sample uses kraft
  2. White or Cream Embossing Powder
  3. Stamps with Open Space
  4. VersaMark Ink Pad
  5. Distress Inks
  6. White Ink Stain
  7. Craft Sheet
  8. Water Brush
  9. Heat Tool

Stamp image randomly on cardstock using VersaMark ink.

Add embossing powder and heat set.

Take white ink stain and pat on a craft sheet. Use a water brush to paint in the blossoms.  Let dry.

Swipe Distress ink colors on the craft sheet, pick up color with the water brush, and paint over the white flowers.

Now you have colored images that show up on the dark cardstock that will look fantastic on your card or scrapbooking project.
