General Techniques

Paper Weaving for a Corner Border by Barbara Bruder

1. For an A-2 Card cut strips 1 ½” X 4 ¼” and 1 ½” X 5 ½”. These will become your corner border after the pieces are woven together. (see image- corner border paper weaving A)

2. Parallel to the 4 ¼” edge on the one strip and the 5 1/2 “ edge on the other strip, pencil in 2 lines from the 1 ½” edge penciling in 1 ½ “. Draw first pencil line at 1/2 “ from the edge and draw 2nd line 1” from edge. (see image- corner border paper weaving B)

3. Cut on these pencil lines. (see image- corner border paper weaving C)

4. Weave these strips and using tape, attach ends of the strips to ensure they will stay in place. (see image- corner border paper weaving D)

Note: You can make a border like this for any size card. Just cut your strips the same width and length as your card. (ie: for a 4X6 card cut a 4” long strip and another strip at 6” long. You will probably still want to make the strips 1 ½” wide. The same will hold true for a 5X7 card or any other size card.)
