Black Magic Embossing And Colored Pencils By April Williams

This is a technique that really makes your cards pop.  Even though it is called Black Magic and it looks great on black cardstock, it also works great on other dark cardstocks.  This card used dark brown and it looks wonderful..

Supplies needed:

   1.  Dark Card Stock

   2.  White Embossing Powder  (Used White Detail EP298)

   3.  Solid Background Stamp  (Used Brocade Backgrounds Set 398)

   4.  VersaMark Ink Pad

   5.  Colored Pencils

   6.  Heat Tool

First stamp the background on the cardstock using VersaMark ink . Add white embossing powder and heat set.

Now start coloring over the embossing powder with the colored pencils, starting with the lightest colors and working towards the darkest.

Keep layering on colors until the background is totally colored.

Now you have a beautiful background for your card.  How easy is that?  It also gives a great shadow effect.  We hope you enjoy making some backgrounds of your own using this technique.
