Iwo Jima Day

(the commemoration of this day is especially meaningful because my Dad at age 17 fought here. So many boys gave their lives on this island)

Now... on to Bingo!

WE HAVE A BINGO WINNER!

However, first, we need to finish a little business LOL

I’d like to thank you all for sharing yourselves with us here at SNS. During this game, I feel that I’ve made a few cyber friends and that we’ll continue chatting as buddies. Thank you, too, for sharing your thoughts about products, images, and crafting. We truly want to serve you in every way, and that means providing you with colors and images which are fun to use. I’m always open to hearing what you have to say. Your honest opinions are extremely helpful.

February 20-weekly drawing

Happy Hoodie-Hoo Day!
I know everyone is ready for this magnificent celebration! It’s been a long, cold winter!

One of Yesterday’s challenge questions was easy - everyone answered correctly. Galaxy Markers are opaque markers which work on dark cardstock as well as light cardstock. In fact, they show up even better on the darker colors! Did you notice that Galaxy markers come in regular colors and metallics? The metallics provide some unusual shading at times. The metallic pizzaz isn’t all it gives. On many cardstocks, the metallic portion outlines itself. A metallic “pink” will appear to be that color with silvery lines on either side of the detailing. They are great to color with on Acrylic pieces because of their opaque nature. And they dry rather quickly, even in humid Florida!

Participants for today’s drawing are:

Alison Liebman
Amy Moorman
Becky Andrews
Carol Porter
Christine Coverston
Elizabeth Roberts
Freneshia Clark
Jan Wood
Janet LoBianco
Janet Stevens
Judith Nielsen
Julie Zippel
Kathy Vogel
Kristyn Coppock
Laurie Bitten
Lenora Singletary
Linda Hobaugh
Linda Smith
Lois Gulotta
Marie Krueger
Marla Kostis
Patricia Hilbern
Patricia Aylor
Sharon Liebman
Sue Lane
Susan Spicer

The bonus question was, yes, it is cost effect to purchase the whole set of Galaxy markers because there is a $3.43 savings. However, a few savvy shoppers reminded me of Sparkle N Sprinkle’s buy 10 get 1 deal. So the savings is actually $1.14 LOL

Correct answers were from:

Alison Liebman
Amy Moorman
Becky Andrews
Carol Porter
Elizabeth Roberts
Freneshia Clark
Jan Wood
Janet LoBianco
Janet Stevens
Judith Nielsen
Julie Zippel
Kathy Vogel
Kristyn Coppock
Laurie Bitten
Linda Hobaugh
Linda Smith
Lois Gulotta
Marie Krueger
Patricia Aylor
Sharon Liebman
Sue Lane
Susan Spicer

11. Forever Yours 1099-270AA

46. Carnation G1028

58. White EP166

90. Glitter Sample Charts-Blank GSAM

Today’s Challenge:

This product allows you to see through it, and create dimensional projects, or projects which appear to be dimensional. Heat setting is a must. Apply 3 coats for silky smooth surface, or a single coat for a more textured look. The trick is to stamp your image, decorate accordingly, then smoosh VersaMark ink across the entire image. Coat with product and heat set. While coating is still hot, apply another coat of product and heat again, and then one more time if desired. Place project in freezer for about 10 minutes. When bringing out of freezer, place hands on either side of project, and bend to produce a “crack”. Continue cracking as desired. Using a water based dye ink pad, smoosh ink across cracks, and polish with paper towel. The ink will have seeped into the project, giving a “cracked glass” appearance. Another trick for this product is using a VersaMarker. “Color” in small or large areas of stamped images with VersaMarker and quickly coat with this product. Heat set for immediate gratification LOL, and see a dimensional gloss without having to wait for anything to dry!

Your challenge today is to name the product and its price.

Please e-mail responses to SNS_Artist@tampabay.rr.com with your name in the Subject Field. Responses which are complete and correct will be placed in a basket for our weekly drawing on Saturday.

Bonus Challenge: How might the SNS packaging of this product be different from our competitors’ packaging?

Please send a separate e-mail with your name in the subject sentence to SNS_Artist@tampabay.rr.com. Your name will be added another time to our basket for Saturday’s drawing.

Good Luck!
