Copic Color Chart

This is an excellent resource to have in your records, just print it out and color in the blocks of the colors you have. Then you have a handy record of what colors you have and exactly what they look like. Just a note, print this on the card stock that you will be using with your Copics, the card stock does have a difference of how the colors appear and how well they blend, we suggest Neenah Card stock and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Copic Color Wheel

How to the colors work.

The letters tell you what color family you are in:

RV - Red Violet

R - Red

YR - Yellow Red (Oranges)

Y - Yellow

YG - Yellow Green

G - Green

BG - Blue Green

B - Blue

BV - Blue Violet (Purples)

The first number is the Color Saturation, the lower the number the more vibrant the color will be, where the larger number will be a more earthy color.

The second number is Natural Blending Group, colors that have the same first number and have sequential second numbers 0 is the lightest and 9 the darkest. Like YG21, YG23, YG25, they are sequential and have a natural blending when used together.

So if you are coloring and want a natural blend you want to stay in the same color group with the same first number. If you want to blend some different shades that's when knowing how the colors work together is helpful. For instance if, BG10 was picked as the first light base color, then BG05 could be added and blended with the BG10, then since the base color had a green tone to it, G02 could be picked to add, then blended again with the BG10, this would give you a color gradient of different colors and shades.
