Welcome to Technique Tuesday once again! The technique I am showing is called reverse stamping. There are several ways to do this, but I am showing you one way today. This method works especially well if you want a reflection in water or a mirror.

Supplies:
- Brilliance pink ink
- acetate
- aqua and darker blue alcohol inks
- ink applicator
- blending solution or 91% alcohol
- glue pen
- Waterscape glitter
Instructions:
Stamp your image near the bottom of your card using pink ink. Now stamp your image on the piece of acetate using the pink ink. You need to use Brilliance or some other permanent ink.

Very important — turn over the acetate, then drop a few drops of the aqua and darker blue alcohol inks on your applicator and spritz it with blending solution. Pounce applicator over the piece of acetate. Use less of the darker ink. You want to be able to see your image well enough, so don’t overdo the dark blue.

Turn the acetate over to the other side and use a glue pen to make some ripples and add glitter. Let dry.

Cut a puddle shape and adhere the “puddle” under the stamped image on the card. Now you have a reflection of the image! I find that using a tape runner to adhere the acetate is less noticeable.

I hope you enjoyed this technique today. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

It is hard to believe that April is already half over. Before we know it schools will be out and summer will be here. That means graduations, followed by beach trips!! With the Sparkle N Sprinkle graduation stamps on sale, this is the perfect time to get what you need to start those cards. As for those beach trips, that is what my cards are all about today.
Stamp Set 455 – Surf’s Up
Stamp Set 456 – Surfin’ Woody
Have you seen these recently released sets? Well, for some of you they really bring back memories. Both these sets are on sale this month and I had so much fun using stamps from these sets on my simple card.
The Woody Convertible and Surfboard are both stamped with Jet Black Stazon and colored using a Dove Blender Pen and markers. This is one of my favorite ways to color images because I can get softer coloring and great blending. Sometimes I use my marker directly, but most of the time I scribble it on one of my Acrylic Blocks and pick up the color with the Dove Blender. Both images are cut out using the coordinating cut file, CE170 Surfin’ Woody, and layered into windows cut out of a small window lattice die cut. The sentiment is from the Surf’s Up set, stamped in Danube Blue Memento ink and punched out.
Now if you have seen my cards, it is very hard for me to keep a card so simple, especially with all the great SNS glitters and embossing powders. I just had to make a second version of this card with more bling!! I added Hit the Beach embossing powder on the die cut lattice and layered it on some holographic cardstock. Don’t you love all that pizazz? Directions for this card can be found in the gallery here.
Check out the EP’s and Glitters on sale, along with all the monthly specials here. Don’t forget to try the Holographic Cardstock and Mirror Cardstock found here.
Don’t forget the Sketch Challenge for the month of April. You have 9 more days to enter for a chance to win a free stamp set!!
Have an awesome week!!

Hi Everyone,
Are you inspired by Technique Tuesday here at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog? I know that I am. My DT team mate April Williams is always bringing us out of the box ideas, pushing our creativity to new limits. Inspired by her, I thought I would try the Cracked Ice or Cracked Glass technique on my card today. It’s a great technique for masculine or shabby chic cards, and while it’s not new, it is one that I haven’t done myself in a long while.
I worked with the set 1900 Cars for this card, and if you love it, now is the time to grab it. It’s on sale this month, and it’s a great set for the man in your life.
Father’s Day will be here before you know it!
After stamping the image, I cut it out using a rectangle nestabilities die. I then coated the entire image in Versamark and sprinkled it with Super Thick Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it. Then I let it cool and finished my card base with some masculine papers and lots of distressing.

Finally it was time for the fun part. I cracked the coating on the image and rubbed it with some distress ink to give it that great aged look. Full card details can be found right here.
I hope you give it a try. Have a great day!

Hi! As promised I am showing the technique that Marie used on her beautiful cross card last week. You can see her card here! This technique is called Faux Patina.

Supplies:
- embossing folder
- light ink color ( I used pink )
- another light color ink ( I used a light green )
- light brown ink
- dark brown ink
- sponges or sponge applicator
- Versa Mark ink pad
- embossing powder ( I used Antiquities EP266 )
- cream cardstock
- heat gun
Ink the front inside of your embossing folder with pink ink and run cream cardstock through the folder.

Next take your sponge and sponge areas with the green ink, leaving some pink areas showing.

Now sponge on some light brown ink, just covering a few areas.

Lastly add the dark brown in the same manner as the other inks.

Swipe the Versa Mark ink lightly over the raised embossed areas, only covering some areas of the card. Then sprinkle on Antiqities embossing powder. I used a paint brush to brush off some of the embossing powder in areas that looked heavy with embossing powder. Now heat set the embossing powder. I just love the look of the Antiquities embossing powder. It is perfect for this technique!

I also tried silver embossing powder on another background and I really like this look too!

I know you will really enjoy doing this technique. It makes such a beautiful background! Instead of using the whole piece as a background, I used a die cut to cut out a shape for my background. Have fun! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Hi, and welcome to Technique Tuesday! I am sorry I am a little late posting today. I hope you had a wonderful Easter! We had a beautiful Easter here. I am calling this technique , ” Julie’s Technique” in honor of a sweet lady who was in our local stamp club. She passed away several years ago with cancer. I always think of her when I do this technique.

Supplies:
- brayer
- multicolored ink pad. I used Kaleidacolor Creole Spice
- Jet Black Staz On ink pad
- white glossy cardstock
- Marvy Metallic pen — copper
- water spritzer
Ink up brayer rolling it across the multicolored ink pad. Spritz the inked brayer with water. Now dab the copper marker on the inked brayer.

Roll brayer over the glossy cardstock going in one direction. You should be able to roll the brayer over another piece again with the remaining ink to get a lighter look. Here are some that I made using the same color inks.

Here are some other pieces using a different multi-colored ink pads.

This is such an easy technique with neat results. This background is great for building scenes! I hope you will try this fun technique . Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! I hope to see you back next Tuesday for a really pretty background technique that I just learned!

Today is Easter Sunday and we want to wish you a blessed Easter. I have a special Easter card to share with you today. There are so many wonderful Easter and Spring images available at Sparkle N Sprinkle but my card concentrates more on some of the lovely embossing powders and ink colors. Metallics are very hard to photograph so I have to apologize that my picture does not begin to show the real beauty of this card.

The lovely cross design on this card is cut out by over lapping 2 tag dies from Spellbinders to create a window. After embossing with a Swiss Dot embossing folder, it is backed with some lovely background paper I created to show through the window, and then layered on gold. This is added to a white card base that has the edges punched with a corner/border punch. The sentiment is from the Easter Wishes Set. I used a Versamarker to add ink to only one section at a time so I could stamp part of the sentiment at the top of the card and the remainder at the bottom. I heat embossed using Pine Star Embossing Powder.
To finish the card I added pearl flourishes and flowers. The three larger flowers are handmade using punches and adding some design with a marker. The smaller pink flowers are purchased paper flowers. The decorative background paper showing through the cross window is created using a very fun technique. Sorry to leave you in suspense but April Williams, a fellow designer and dear friend, shared this technique with me and she will be sharing it with you during her Technique Tuesday on April 17th. She will also have another great technique coming up this Tuesday so make sure you stop back by.
Happy Easter,
E. Marie

Hi Everyone
It’s Barbara here and I thought I’d show you one of my takes on the April sketch challenge.
I thought I’d use stamp set 403 By the Sea. This set is so cool and is perfect for a card or maybe a great layout for that wonderful trip to the beach.

I used the design in the landscape view. Next I colored the castle with colored pencils and shaded it with gamsol. I applied VersaMark over the image and covered the image with shimmer ep , EP135, then heat set it. I popped the seashell with dimensional foam. I hope this gives you inspiration to enter the Sketch challenge this month.
We’d love to see your creation and you will be eligible to win a stamp set of your choice. So click here to go over to the sketch page for more information and to add your creation to be eligible to win.
Thanks for stopping by

Hi Everyone,
I’m always happy when it’s my turn to show off a card here at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog. One of my favorite types of cards to make are feminine ones, because they allow me the opportunity to use my beloved glitter and bling, in any amounts that I want
For these cards, I inked up the set Cocktail Party(375). I think these stamps are just the perfect thing for the up coming prom season, don’t you? I stamped the Chandelier (2033-275E ), colored it and layered it on a base of Sticker Paper (99558) coated in Sassy Silver glitter (G1050). I used Versamark (99702) for Charisse (2034-374H) and the sentiment Chic (2040-375A) along with Silver Detail embossing powder (EP257). My previous card share here, I also used the silver embossing powder on black and I really loved the glamorous look.

And since I couldn’t stop there, I also made this girlfriend themed card. Here I used Black Detail embossing powder (EP171) and Olivia ( 2035-275E). The sentiment was stamped and coated in Sparkling Snow Glitter (G1003) , attached with a pop dot and the 1/4″ Tear-iffic Tape (SAT01) was used for the Dazzling Rose (G1085) glittered strip at the bottom. Full details for both cards can be found in my gallery here.

Thanks for popping in today! Also, just a reminder that the new sketch challenge started on April 1st and runs all month long. Just click here for all the details and your chance at a great prize!
Have a great day!
