It’s almost Black Friday – can you stand it!!!   I was just getting into fall, and now I have to start thinking about Christmas and Christmas cards.  I know, I know – I’m probably late getting started and you’ve all been working on yours for months……….  Anyway – keep your eyes peeled for our big Black Friday sales event – more details later………

To get you in the mood, here are several beautiful cards that our designers have done…….

Amanda Reed created this adorable snowman card using the Feeding the Birds image from Stamp Set 385.  The addition of the red flowers really makes this stand out.  

Here are a couple of other cards using the very same image with a totally different look.

And……..Holy Penguins, Bat Man!!!!    Look at these adorable penguin cards!!!   There are penguins everywhere.   Set 384 – Holiday Penguins, Set 438 – Playful Pengies and even some on Set 439 – Tis the Season……   I’m just giving you a peek of the many, many samples shown in our gallery……..   It’s up to you to pack a lunch, pull up a seat, go find them all and be inspired.

   Brrrrr….  this little pengie is chilly.    Karalee Ingram made this adorable snowy card.

  Who’s got the candy canes???   Linda Loew was inspired to use the 2010 Heirloom Ornament dies for this one.

  Karin Martin brings our Mrs & Mrs Pengie out for the holidays in this beautiful red & green confection.

Hi Everyone,

Since we are celebrating animals this month at Sparkle N Sprinkle, I thought I would show off another holiday card made with the delightful stamp set named Playful Pengies (438). All of the specific details for recreating my card can be found by clicking here, but I embossed the stamped background with the stamp Snow Flurries stamp (3555-438G) and Firecracker Red embossing powder (EP29) and added a dry embossed background on top of that.  It provided the perfect backdrop for the little Pengie in Hat (3554-438c)!

Hi! As my days wind down at SNS, I thought I’d share a few cards which are not in the SNS Gallery.

Today’s Card presents the “Nestle in for Christmas” image. Created for and published in Cardmaker’s Sketchbook Christmas Celebration book released in 2009, the idea was to employ lots of sparkle on a card.

The directions are not in the card gallery at SNS because it is property of Cardmaker, however, to see the products used, a few tips for sparkly cards and an explanation for how to achieve sparkle-laden cards, just click here.

Good Morning!

Were you able to join us for the blog hop celebrating World Animal Day?  There were so many delightful animal stamps featured along the way, that I thought I would keep the fun going by sneaking in one more.

My card is a Z Fold,  which is made by folding back the front of an A2 sized card.  It’s an easy “fancy fold” and and one that I make often.

 I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (99604) and colored the Candy Cane Pengie (3552-438A) from the set Playful Pengies (438) with Copic markers for the front of my card, along with the Santa Hat Season (3551-438C) sentiment.  Since the ribbon I chose for my card had gold threads running along it, I added a gold snowflake embellishment.

I thought I would go the extra step and tie my image in with the gold theme, and I ran the edges of the panel in some Dimensional Glue (539) and sprinkled on Celestial glitter (G1031).  Of course everything is held together with 1/4″ Tear-ific Tape (SAT01)

The Magical Winter Moments Holiday Blog Hop will be here before you know it – just the day after tomorrow – Thursday September 22 and 23, with drawings for prizes on Saturday September 24! Marie used Black Detail Embossing Powder on the image, accented it with Aztec Gold Glitter, and created a beautifully sparkly frame with Meadow Spark and Fire Engine Red Glitters.

When it comes to mailing a card, we still like creating an illusion of dimension, while using a single postage stamp. Designer Barbara Bruder recently taught a class at StampAway showing how to do just that!

Engaging our very friendly Slim the Snowman and the magical Believe sentiment, both from the Merry Crows Christmas Set, Barbara has achieved the dimensional element by tearing Sticker Paper and applying glitter. To obtain an interesting affect, Barbara alternated the layers with Sparkling Snow glitter and Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft (our flocking specially formulated with just the right amount of glitter).

With the weather doing all sorts of crazy things this year, what’s not to love about the Gothic Snowman created by Designer Judy Rozema? With temperatures unseasonably warm one day, and equally unseasonably cool the next, this melting snowman says it all in the sweltering heat.

It’s Karin Martin from the Sparkle and Sprinkle design team, and I’m so pleased to tell you that I will be posting here at the blog a couple of times each month.  I love to share what I’ve been working on and Sparkle and Sprinkle has the best products to get creative with.

Today I’m using one of my favorite techniques on this holiday card, called emboss – resist.  It works best with solid stamps, so the Pine Forest stamp (3379-414P) from the set Winter Swirl (414) was a great choice.  I took a page from an old book, inked my stamp in Versamark (99702) and sprinkled the image with White Detail embossing powder (EP298), and finally went to work with my heat gun.  When the image was cool, I took a sponge and dabbed on some green ink.  The embossed image resists the ink, so you get the result in the photo below.

The card base was created by randomly stamping the Snowflakes (3383-414A) from the same set, in Versamark. I layered the image on some black card stock and added a red punched border. It was finished with  A Winter Wonderland (3388-414AA) stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink(99604).  The ribbon and embellishment were from my personal stash of crafty stuff.  I’m sure you have some of that as well, all crafters do
