Today is a very special day for many of us because we celebrate the joy of motherhood.  There is nothing that gives as much joy as your children.   I recently watched my oldest daughter receive her college diploma and I have to admit I was very proud!!  I also think of my mother and all that she has done for me, and cannot begin to thank her enough!!

There are many people that are very special in our lives, whether they are moms, dear friends, or neighbors.  A handmade card is a wonderful way to let them know just how special they are.  This card is perfect for this.  It is designed to show off the lovely flowers, Hibiscus Flower, embossed with Teddy Brown Embossing Powder, trimmed and surrounded with sparkling Pine Star Embossing Powder.  The front of the card allows a portion of the card inside to be revealed, showing a lovely background of hummingbirds, created by embossing the Caliope Hummingbird and Bee Hummingbird images.

I’m always happy when it’s my turn to show off a card here at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog.  One of my favorite types of cards to make are feminine ones, because they allow me the opportunity to use my beloved glitter and bling, in any amounts that I want

For these cards, I inked up the set Cocktail Party(375).  I think these stamps are just the perfect thing for the up coming prom season, don’t you?   I stamped the Chandelier (2033-275E ), colored it and layered it on a base of Sticker Paper (99558) coated  in Sassy Silver glitter (G1050).  I used Versamark (99702) for Charisse (2034-374H) and the sentiment Chic (2040-375A) along with Silver Detail embossing powder (EP257). My previous card share here, I also used the silver embossing powder on black and I really loved the glamorous look.

And since I couldn’t stop there, I also made this girlfriend themed card.  Here I used Black Detail embossing powder (EP171) and Olivia ( 2035-275E). The sentiment was stamped and coated in Sparkling Snow Glitter (G1003) , attached with a pop dot and the 1/4″ Tear-iffic Tape (SAT01) was used for the Dazzling Rose (G1085) glittered strip at the bottom.  Full details for both cards can be found in my gallery here.

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with a card share today in order to remind you to mark your calenders for March 22-23rd.  Why?

 It’s the next blog hop here at Sparkle N Sprinkle and the theme is “Flower Child”.  That means all things related to flowers and children, so there will be tons of variety and loads of inspiration for you.  And prizes!  lol!  How could I forget to mention that?!

This card  card uses the beautiful Lily (3219-402M) image from the set My Rose Garden (402), which is on sale this month! I colored it with Copic markers to match my papers and made a layered flower using a punch, die and the fabulous Sticker Paper (99558).

The glitters I used to make the layered flower are Carnation (G1028), Waterscape (G1108) and Purple Fusion (G1083).  It’s the perfect shimmery embellishment   I don’t know about you, but this card just makes me crave springtime!  It can’t be long now, right? Hi Scrappers and Stampers,

We finally have the Spellbinders Rose Creations Dies in the store!!!

And as you can see from the cards that I have created I love the new Crystallized Sugar Technique with the dies (you can view a video here).  After I cut out the petals and  covered them with the glitter and let them dry I used a bone folder to shape the leaves before I glued the individual layers together.  The glue and glitter gives a nice stiffness to the petals and they hold there shape very well and don’t flatten out over time.

Day 4 of our reveal was hinted at yesterday…did you figure out the other two products included on the card??  Well, one of them is our new Design Adhesives!  They are TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!  The work with Glitter, Embossing Powder, Flocking and Sparkle N Soft!  They are strips of designed double adhesive, you just peel off the back, lay it down on your cardstock and rub with your finger, then lift if off and cover with your choice of powders!  You can do all one color, or add some different colors.  Take a look at what Brenda did here, she used embossing powders.

I had fun playing with Mandy and Becca today!!  That’s what these girls got named by you, and I just love them!  They are so cute and fun to play with.  I made a set of 3 cards.  I stamped them all with Memento Ink and colored with Copics.  Used Nestibilities to cut them out, and used a stack of pattern paper to coordinate them all.  They are all different, but go together nice for a gift set of cards.

I hope that you all have played with your glitter this week…I know it’s messy, but it’s soooo fun and sparkly!!  And if you need a quick cleanup just remember to use a Swiffer cloth and it cleans up your work space real quick.

For my last focus on glitter this week I wanted to share with you a card I made with a metal stencil.  When we were at CHA this summer Dreamweaver was gracious enough to give us a couple of their stencils and they are beautiful!!  I used these sunflowers and placed the stencil on a piece of Sticker Paper cut slightly larger than the stencil, then using the Sprinkle Spoons started in the centers of the flowers with Bronze Splendor glitter, gently tapping the glitter in just the center.  Then leaving the Bronze Splendor where it is adding to it Autumn Medley Glitter around the center, then finishing off the flower with Sunset Glitter.  Then I gently and carefully used my finger and pressed all the glitter in and filled the gaps.  Then leaving the glitter on the stencil I moved on to the leaves, I first put down some Parisan Mist, then Meadow Spark and gently used my finger to press that glitter in.  Then when you are done, dump off the glitter and use a Chubby Brush to brush all the excess off.  The next step is to take the Sticker Paper off the stencil (Not the Stencil off the Sticker Paper).  After you removed the paper I covered the entire piece with Interference Green glitter, then just trim and mount on a piece of cardstock.  I just love the way it came out…it is soooo stunning!  The sentiment was then embossed with Bullfrog Embossing Powder.

Now it’s your turn….why not incorporate glitter into a card this weekend for a special someone…and make their day sparkle!
