Magical Winter Moments blog hop

by Donna Ellis on September 22, 2011

Welcome to our Magical Winter Moments blog hop celebrating Winter’s Festivities, Colors and themes!

Yes, it’s still hot here in the South, but we’re preparing for the magical Winter Holiday Season which brings opportunities for miracles, scrumptious flavors and scents, meaningful celebrations, a time of rest – and moments of longing for the Hope of Spring. Help yourself to some delicious mocha or rich hot chocolate, and let’s get hopping!

A reminder that through the end of the month, the Sparkle Team presents all of the SNS Christmas, Chanukah, Winter, Christian, Jewish, Sympathy and Lisa Hillaker artist stamps on special – 15% off! To view all our specials, including stamps, glitters, EPs, and other fine SNS products, just click here.

Important things first: The Grand Prize is a stamp set of the winner’s choice.  As you visit each artist’s blog, there is the possibility of winning one of THREE more prizes! It’s a secret though. No one knows who “Those Three” are, except for me, so be sure to leave a comment on each blog.

Winners will be announced Saturday, September 24 between 11AM-3PM here on the blog.

We hope you will enjoy viewing our cards as much as we did in creating them. To become eligible to win the Grand Prize, please leave a comment on each blog, and follow the directions on the last blog. Winners of the 3 “other-prizes” will be selected from the comments on the mystery designers’ blogs! (Yes, the possibility exists that you might win the grand prize AND secondary-prizes, so good luck!)

Leaving a heart felt comment inspires, motivates, and brings happiness to each designer! From the last blog, you will be directed to come back here and leave a brief comment about… (you’ll have to go there to see what the comment will be about). For those of you who have “hopped with us” in the past, the heartfelt sharing you left on our blogs, also touched our hearts. Thank you!

HOW TO LEAVE A COMMENT: Are you new to blog hops? To find the comments section on each designer’s blog, scroll down to the bottom of that day’s post. The word COMMENTS possibly will be very tiny. Click on the tiny word COMMENTS. A box will pop up (or you may have to scroll down again). Write your comment (sign your name if leaving an anonymous comment). Perhaps one of those wonky SPAM preventer options will show up. Just type in the shown characters and click enter. That’s all there is to it. You will become an old hand in no time at all. Designers covet sincere comments left on their blogs. They share their artwork and hearts, hoping to inspire others. Visitors who leave comments, in turn, encourage and inspire the designers. (If you absolutely cannot leave a comment for some reason, please e-mail SNS_Artist@tampabay.rr.com with your comment AND the name of the blog or designer you are commenting about).

Happy Hopping!

Can’t wait to get going on this hop!

NanaConnie September 22, 2011 at 9:23 am

Wonderful hop and lots of terrific inspiration. Thanks so much. My favorite holiday activity in the preparation part is card making. When it comes to the actual holiday celebration, my favorite part is cooking in the kitchen, with all the family joining in, to create a fabulous dinner feast. Family is the most important part of my life. :-)

Kristyn September 22, 2011 at 10:16 am

I haven’t had a chance to play along yet with the blog hops. So I’m hoping to get to finish this one!

Kristyn September 22, 2011 at 11:14 am

yeah I got to finish!!! I have a few holiday favorites. I love making christmas cards so those I get to do all year long! at christmas time I love to bake. everyone I know gets a card and a homemade goody. then when my mom comes to visit we bake cookies and decorate them like we used to do when I was a kid. Some traditions just should die cuz we get “too old” for something. LOL. Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration!!

How would I spend the glorious, gorgeous months of October, November and December? Easy ~ I’d watch the wonders that nature brings to each day! Outside celebrating each and every change that occurs, with all my other fellow holiday revelers!

Sharon Hiller September 22, 2011 at 4:18 pm

My favorite holiday activite is getting as many family and friends together at my house for dinner. And then sending them home with a hand made gift.

NancyA September 22, 2011 at 4:29 pm

Great blog hop. I am so inspired to start making cards!

My favorite time of the season is sitting back and remembering holidsys past with family and friends that are no longer with us.

Linda Rapacki September 22, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Favorite Activity: Going to the tree farm and finding the perfect Christmas Tree!!

Verna Angerhofer September 22, 2011 at 5:09 pm

“What a beautiful card using the glitz from all that mirror cardstock and glitter too. It dresses the card up fantastically.”

If I did this correctly I was to put the same comment that I did at the last stop and after joining as a follower of Donna’s blog. Now that is not a hard task at all as I would love to follow her blog and I did so admire her card too. I thought it was beautiful and that the photos did it justice indeed.

But all of the designers did a wonderful job and I so enjoyed the tour. I always enjoy the sights and sounds of the season and all the great Christmas carols we sing in church and celebrating the Lord’s birth. And making holiday cards is one of the most fun things I do each year for the holidays as well as gathering together with family and friends. So doing this hop has been so filled with inspiration for me.

Joni September 22, 2011 at 5:12 pm

Great blog hop. It made me want to start my Christmas cards.

McStamper September 22, 2011 at 5:34 pm

Thanks for the hop. It was great. My favorite holiday is to spend time with kids and grandkids as much as possible.

Jann September 22, 2011 at 7:01 pm

Great Hop and so many ideas I am tempted to play for therest of the night but things are not what they should be so I can only do my stuff while my minds is floating with penquins and fun snow families,

I like Hanukah more. I can be piggish and say instead of eating in one 24 hours period, we have 8 full DAYS. How can that be beat? I like the traditions that families have tweekend to make them their own.

That aside, I also enjoy going to a traditional Xmas Eve Mass. Some beautiful churches and the choirs are awesome.

What an awesome card. I love the image with the tag, it just pulls it all together. The red sparkle was just what was needed to bring the bling out.

That gold on the bottom layer is awesome and it did pop in the smaller image.

I believe you (the first paragraph or two)

Marjorie Weese September 22, 2011 at 8:49 pm

Getting ready for Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I love going through treasured decorations and special cards from the past. I also love bringing in something new either hand-made or not! I especially enjoy making the Christmas cards and looking over all of them before sending them on their way! Thank you for this wonderful blog hop tonight!

Lynne Platt September 22, 2011 at 9:35 pm

Donna my favorite is decorating the tree with my grandchildren. Every year they are bigger (and I am smaller) and they love to decorate the top of the tree, drink hot chocolate with a peppermint stick, and shake the presents! This was a wonderful blog and I am sorry that I do not have enough time every day to visit everyone’s blog except when “hopping.” I think I was supposed to put what I said on your blog below (or did I dream that). So here it is:

Donna – It was glittery on my laptop and absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me of vintage Christmas and for some reason my grandmother. Thank you for your wonderful cards, your inspiration, your help, and for just being a wonderful person!

Have a great night.

Denise Bryant September 22, 2011 at 9:51 pm

I love decorating the tree. I have collected so many ornaments over the years, some handmade. They all bring back a lot of memories. Fun to unpack them and recall the years past.

My favorite part of any holiday (but Christmas is best) is spending time with my family – from my father, to my children, to my granddaughter and everyone else who just happens to drop in……its a wonderful time of the year!

PS. Thank you for all the wonderful ideas to make some cards for the season – my granddaughter will love to try some of them out this year.

Aileen Freeman September 22, 2011 at 11:25 pm

Ever since I was a child, my favorite Christmas activity is to drive around the community to look at all the decorations put out by the families. I love them all- spectacular gigantic displays of lights and action to the gentle Nativities. When I am returning home from wherever I’ve been, I always drive down different streets to see all the different displays, or I even go out of my way to see a special display. I love the lights and colors of Christmas, and my cards tend to be like that, also. I am already in the Christmas mood.

NWFlamingo September 23, 2011 at 1:31 am

I believe that making my cards and receiving cards from others are my favorite holiday activities. Guess I’d better hustle, only a few hours of summer left and Christmas will be here before we know it.

karenladd September 23, 2011 at 3:56 am

Finished the hop and just soaked in all that inspiration! I’m so happy to be seeing winter and holiday cards…I’m ready!!! So my favorite part of the holidays is getting together with all my family. With my elderly mother in poor health, we treasure the time remaining with her and know that she delights in seeing all her children, grand-children and even one great grandchild gather around her!

carrie September 23, 2011 at 11:01 am

Wonderful blog hop.

I would have to say my favorite holiday activity is being with family and fixing our traditional Christmas morning breakfast.

Candy Meyers September 23, 2011 at 11:05 am

This blog hop was filled with wonderful ideas for the upcoming holidays. I can’t wait to get started on some of them. One of my favorite things connected with Christmas is all the uplifting music. Being a singer provides me with a lot of opportunities to share these wonderful songs with the public. Thanks loads for your blog hop.

My favorite holiday activity is trimming the Christmas tree. I take my time and think of memories connected to many of the ornaments I’m hanging. It’s much fun to be joined by other family members but also an enjoyable quiet time when doing it alone. Sending and receiving cards are my second favorite things. You get to hear from many friends and family you don’t see all year.
Thank you for a great blog hop. It inspires us all to start our cards and plans for another holiday.

My favorite is Christmas. I love the baking, spending time with my family, the decor, everything! I especially love the reason why we celebrate!

Shartl September 23, 2011 at 6:01 pm

Loved the blog hop with all the wonderful Design Team cards and ornaments. That is actually one of my favorite holiday things…making my own cards and decorations. It’s fun to pull out my stamps and papers and just have a great time designing cards for my friends and family. I always keep one sample from each year so I can go back and see what I did…and to remind me of techniques that I might not otherwise use. Thanks for a great hop!
Not sure if I’m supposed to repeat the comment from Donna’s blog or not but here it is:
“Your card looks gorgeous so I can only imagine how amazing it must look in person. Have never seen mirror paper but it would be perfect for a holiday card! I am following your blog and have been having fun looking back over your past posts. Lots of inspiration there!”

sandy September 23, 2011 at 8:48 pm

Great Blog Hop…My favorite Holiday activity is: I host a “cookie party” every year. I, of course, make handmade invitations for each guest, handmade favours too. Then we all bring cookies, eat cookies, drink punch!!! The finale is a fun game where we each end up with a beautiful ornament to take home.

April September 23, 2011 at 9:40 pm

I loved seeing all the wonderful projects in the blog hop. These hops are always fun and full of ideas! I could not comment on Kim’s blog no matter how many times I tried. The favorite part of Christmas for me is making Christmas cards of course! My husband’s side of the family has a huge Christmas party in Dec. and I love going to see everyone. It is always a fun time.

Kathy Vogel September 23, 2011 at 11:40 pm

My favorite part of the holiday festivities is baking & eating cookies, especially the eating part.

Woo hoo.. can’t wait to see what these talented ladies have to share! So happy Donna E. Shared the link with me!

Sharon Field September 24, 2011 at 8:10 am

Unable to post on six of the blogs: Karen, Marie, Kim, Julie, Barbara and Linda… when i fill out the comment box below their post, select profile and enter it blinks at me like it is trying to bring up a word verification box or something and then just wipes OUT my comment!! I’ll bet you bucks they have post pages enabled in the old blogger format… which you CANNOT do with comment below post.. it has to be one or the other!! Unfortunately, it stops comments from coming in!!!!

also… there is a problem with the link from Sandy’s blog BACKWARDS to Marie’s blog.. it says page not found.

It was a nice little blog hop, wish they would turn off word verification, it would be easier to comment!!

mitz September 27, 2011 at 12:56 pm

..ohhhh such a ** kewl ** idea for a blog hop.. they are so much fun and this one is no different.. thanks for the opportunity…
