Product Focus on Sparkle N Soft

by Jill Jacobsen on July 5, 2010

What is Sparkle N Soft??  It is a blend of our hand mixed glitters with our wonderfully soft Flocking.  It will add glittery softness to any project!   Some of them are opaque and some are semi-transparent.

How do you use Sparkle N Soft you might ask?  Here are the different methods for applying it to your projects:

Stickum Powder

1. Stamp image with Versamark on cardstock and sprinkle with Stickum Powder. Heat with heat gun.

2. Have Flocking or Sparkle N Soft open and ready to pour, and as soon as you are done heating immediately pour on glitter or flocking.

3. Reheat to set .

Note: This method is good when you want the whole image flocked.

For freehanding shapes, letters, words or other designs, or to simply to fill in certain areas, use the VersaMarker Watermark Pen following the same steps as indicated for the VersaMark pad.

Brushable Glue

1. Stamp image with Stazon ink (do not use a waterbased ink, it will bleed).

2. With a glue brush, work in small areas and brush glue over section you want to flock. Apply flocking and let dry a few minutes. Tap off excess.

Note: Flocking is opaque, so be sure to stay within the lines of the stamp or you will not be able to see the image.

Dimensional Glue

1. Stamp image with Stazon ink (do not use a waterbased ink, it will bleed).

2. Use the tip of the glue bottle and apply the glue where you want the flocking. Apply flocking to glue and let dry about 1/2 hour. Tap off excess.

Note: This method is good when you want to outline. Try using it on the leaves of a tree to give dimension. Maybe make polka dots on something or on a background.

Double Sided Tape

1. Tear off the desired length of tape and lay it down on cardstock. Peel up protective layer and dump flocking on tape. Rub in with finger. Tap off excess.

Note: Use different sizes of tape to make a striped background piece. Or frame an image.

Sticker Paper & Adhesive Sheets

1. Crack and Peel protective layer of sticker paper. Dump Flocking or Sparkle N Soft and rub in with fingers. Tap off excess or use a chubby brush to brush off any excess.

Note: This method makes beautiful velvet or faux suede background for your cards. Or use it with a punch or die to make desired shapes.

Sakura Glue Pen

1. Stamp image and color. Apply glue to small area where you would like to highlight with flocking.

Note: Use to highlight small sections or add detail and depth to your image.

Here is a tag that Julie Z made using the Double Sided Tape, and Brushable Glue methods.
