Friendship Roses

by Jill Jacobsen on June 10, 2010

This drop jaw, gorgeous card using My Rose Garden from Julie W.  is amazing to say the least!  She always amazes me with her talent!  Here is what she says about her card.

I stamped and white embossed the rose image multiple times on water color paper, masking where needed. I wet the entire background and floated in reinker colors.

I used darker colors on the two extra roses I embossed on a separate piece of watercolor paper, and cut these two out. I partially cut some of the petals and layered this on top of the other image with foam tape for a little lift.

The greeting was stamped w/ the pine ink and the lower edge punched. I added a trimmed off strip as the horizontal band and a faux brad.

This card and it’s stunning directions can be found here.

Happy Stamping,

May I be your 1st comment? It is a Beautiful Beautiful card…using such immagination with just a “rose”. I’m sure we all have them. You really made it come alive. I am so Proud of you!!! You probably have been teaching for yrs & here I am saying “I am Proud of You”. But I really am. I can’t tell you how much I really enjoyed admiring your piece of art. Thank you.

What’s not to drool over on this soft, yet colorful, invitation to the artist’s garden? Every detail beckons a gardener’s heart. It’s beautiful!

WOW! Beautiful! And such creativity thinking “out of the box”. I can’t say enough in praise of this card.
I do have a question though. I love that you have the photos of your designers on the left border… but I see 2 Julies – Julie Warner and Julie Zippel. Which of them earned all the praise for creating this card???

Absolutely beautiful! I’ve just sat and stared at it a few times. I just got that stamp set, and hope I can come up with a card that does the stamps justice like yours does!
