Spring Bunny {12.28.2016}

Hello from Designer Chris! I am bringing you a card today showcasing the Spring Bunny stamp set, which is absolutely gorgeous! Let’s check it out.

I stamped the bunny on white cardstock with black ink, then sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat embossed it. I colored the bunny, eggs, and flowers with Copic markers. Then, I started adding SPARKLE! I rolled out some Nuvo Glue Pen Fine onto the images, and sprinkled on glitter. I added Cloud Nine glitter to the eggs, Bubble Gum glitter to the pink flowers, and Orchid glitter to the purple flowers. The Cloud Nine glitter was perfect for the eggs – even though they are different colors, the Cloud Nine glitter made the eggs really sparkly and still allowed the colors to come through. The eggs look great, don’t you think?

Here is a closeup of some of the flowers and egg here. The glitters made these really pretty!

I stamped the sentiment using Versamark Ink Pad, and then sprinkled on White Detail embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool.

I layered the card over some die cut shapes and added on some Dandelion Yellow Crystal Drops along the outer edge for extra pizazz.

This Spring Bunny stamp set is so adorable and I really had fun making this card. It makes me really happy to see this bunny. I know you will love this set!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Cherry Blossom Wreath {12.14.2016}

Hi from Designer Chris! Today’s card makes me so happy!! I used the new Build a Wreath digi stamp. Let’s check it out.
I sized the wreath I wanted (there are four wreath options in this incredible digi stamp set) and chose one of the many sentiments and sized it to go inside the wreath. That is one of the benefits of a digi stamp set, you can really manipulate them to any size you want! I also sized some of the cherry blossoms, leaves, and the bow, then printed them out twice. I fussy cut out the blossoms, leaves, and bow, and partial die cut out the wreath with a circle die, leaving the bow tails uncut. I fussy cut around the bow tails sticking out of the edge of the circle that was die cut, and fussy cut out other bow pieces to add dimension. Once I had everything cut out, I rolled on some Nuvo Glue Pen Large adhesive to the bow pieces, and sprinkled on some Collegiate Garnet glitter. I layered up the bow pieces with dimensional tape to give dimension. Here is a close up of the bow. Look how beautiful that Collegiate Garnet glitter is! Be still my heart!!
For my background, I ran some pink cardstock through my Cuttlebug in a leaf embossing folder. I then lightly swept my Versamark Ink Pad over the raised portions of the cardstock, and sprinkled on some Pink Lady embossing powder, and heat set it. This gave the background additional texture, dimension, and some extra sparkle and pizazz 🙂
I adhered blossoms to the wreath, and added more dimension by adding foam dimensionals. I rolled on some Nuvo Glue Pen Fine adhesive to the wreath, flowers, and leaves, and sprinkled on two colors on the wreath: Peruvian Lily, and Rose Gold. I also added on Bubble Gum to the blossoms and Luau Green to the leaves. Here is a photo showing the wreath, cherry blossoms, and leaves.
Here is another shot of the card that shows some of the dimension. I have a thing for pink and for cherry blossoms, so this Build a Wreath digi stamp set was the perfect set to use for a pink fix! I love how versatile it is and how much you can do with it.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Winter Blue Jay [11.30.2016]

Hi again from Designer Chris! My fellow designers have created the most amazing cards and projects this month and they are all so beautiful and inspirational! They inspire and motivate me every day! For today’s card, I stepped outside of my comfort zone and created a watercolored background and stamped over it. Let’s peek at the card.
809_winterbluejay_01_front
To start, I spritzed on two Nuance Powders, in Turquoise and Royal Blue colors. Then, I spritzed on some water which made the powders change to color and it was so cool! Very colorful! Then, I dried it with  my heat tool, and then I stamped the Winter Blue Jay stamp the bird in black ink over the colored background. I sprinkled on Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it. After this, I used my Fine Nuvo Glue Pen and then adhered glitter strategically over the bird. I used Jasper Blue, Denim, Surf glitters.
809_winterbluejay_02_bird
For the sentiment, I stamped out the sentiment in black ink and again used Clear Detail embossing powder and heat set it, over more of the watercolored background. I die cut out the sentiment and framed it with a larger die cut.
809_winterbluejay_03_sentimentAnother thing I did was to do an inlaid die cut / distressed edge around the bird. I die cut out the bird with a frame die, and then used an embossing folded to give some wood grain texture to the outer part of the card panel. I swiped my Versamark Ink Pad along the other edges of the bird frame die and the inside edge of the outer piece of cardstock. I sprinkled on Sky Blue Spark embossing powder and heat set it. You can see the embossing powder here.
809_winterbluejay_04_edge
I also decorated up the tree that the bird is sitting on. I used my Fine Nuvo Glue Pen to add adhesive to the tree, and sprinkled on Rose Gold and Lator Gator to brighten up the tree. I love it!
809_winterbluejay_05_tree
This Winter Blue Jay stamp set is gorgeous! I am in awe of all the cards that the designers made this month using it. If you haven’t yet, go through this month’s blog posts and check out this gorgeous stamp used in multiple ways. You will be inspired!

Christmas Tag #2 Gate-Fold Card [11.23.2016]

Hi from Designer Chris! Okay, so I really like the November release stamps, and today’s card uses the incredible Christmas Tag #2 stamp set. Let’s check it out.

806_christmastags1_01-front

I stamped out the snowman tag in black ink, then sprinkled Clear Detail embossing powder over it, and heat set it. I colored the image with water colors, and then die cut out the tag into a circle. Then, I began working on the card front. I scraplifted an idea from Demo Donna. (She makes incredible creations!) Demo Donna’s video for the October Video Kit Club demonstrates how to make a background using the Nuvo Glue Pen Large and Gilding Flakes. I followed her lead, and I swiped the Nuvo Glue Pen Large over the snowflake tag in the Christmas Tag #2 stamp set. I stamped out the image repeatedly along the edges of the gate fold card front and let the glue dry until it was tacky. Then, I dumped on the Silver Bullion Nuvo Gilding Flakes, and rubbed in the flakes into the tacky glue. I burnished it in, then brushed off the left over flakes. This made a really fun pattern on my card front. Here is what it looked like.

806_christmastags1_02-fullfront

I also die cut out a scalloped circle, and repeated the same process. I swiped the Nuvo Glue Pen Large over the scalloped edge and let it dry. Once it was tacky, I dumped on the Silver Bullion Nuvo Gilding Flakes, and rubbed in the flakes into the tacky glue. I burnished it in, then brushed off the left over flakes. I used this to mat the shaker circle, and I also did the same process on the top circle of the shaker.

806_christmastags1_03-partialopen

To make the shaker, I started creating more circle “frames” by die cutting paper using two circle dies taped together and cut about 10 of them so I could stack them up to create dimension for the shaker components. I also die cut two circles in Embossable Clear Acetate. I stacked and adhered about five of the circles into a stack, and adhered it over the snowman circle tag. I then added in clear star sequins and adhered one of the acetate circles over it. Then, adhered and stacked the rest of the circle frames. I added in purple beads and sealed it shut with the second piece of acetate. Then, to finish it off, adhered the silver embossed circle on top. You can see in the photo below the two different layers of the shaker sequins and beads. I also stamped out the “to” and “from” sentiments using Versamark Ink Pad, and heat embossed Sonic Silver embossing powder. I fussy cut them out and adhered these to the acetate part of the shaker.

806_christmastags1_04-tag

This was really fun to make. I like the looks of the double shaker and think I will try it again! I hope you enjoyed it and will try Demo Donna’s background stamp gilding flake technique. Thanks Demo Donna for the inspiration!!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a magical day!

Stella Grinchy Santa [11.16.2016]

Happy Holidays from Designer Chris! Who doesn’t love Stella? She makes me smile and when I saw this new Stella Dear Santa in the November release, I just had to have her 🙂 Let’s see what I did.
804_stellasanta_01_front
Stella definitely wasn’t a good girl this year, and Santa probably won’t be visiting her. She reminded me of the Grinch, so I had to make her green as an homage to one of my favorite holiday characters! I used the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and rolled on glue to her hat. I sprinkled on Margarita glitter. Then, more glue pen on her hat ruff, and sprinkled on Exhilarated Green glitter. These two greens together were the perfect Grinch colors!
804_stellasanta_02_stellagrinch
I die cut some snowflakes and jazzed them up. I used my finger tool, and burnished on some of the Pure Platinum Nuvo Embellishment Mousse on some of the snowflakes and Blue Topaz Nuvo Glimmer Paste on others. I used Brushable Glue and adhered the snowflakes to my background. Here is what the snowflakes looked like.
804_stellasanta_03_snowflakes I added some texture to my background. I stamped the Crackle Background with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with White Detail embossing powder. Then, I placed some strips of Double sided “Tear-ific” Tape over the background. I laid out a strip from the 1/8″, 1/4″ and 1/2″ Double sided “Tear-ific” Tapes. I burnished in Gypsy Red, Margarita, and Evening Glow glitters in the tape strips.
804_stellasanta_04_backgroundsnowflakes

I rolled out more Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and rolled on glue to the “Dear Santa” part of the letter. I added Gypsy Red glitter to make it a bit more fun. Here it is.

804_stellasanta_05_dearsantaI also decorated the ornaments. Whipped out the trusty Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and used it to add adhesive to the ornaments. I sprinkled on Gypsy Red and Margarita glitters to them.804_stellasanta_06_ornamentedgeHere is another shot of the card. Stella makes me happy, even though she is so grumpy and grinchy! So fun and funny!804_stellasanta_07_last
I hope you enjoyed this. I had a lot of fun making it.

Festive Lantern [11.14.2016]

Hi from Designer Chris! I really like this new Festive Lantern stamp set, which is one of Sparkle N Sprinkle’s new releases in November.Let’s peek at the card I made show casing this fun stamp set!
808_lantern_01_front
For this card, I stamped out the lantern image with Versamark Ink and sprinkled on Tuscan Sun embossing powder and heat set it. I die cut the cardstock into an oval. Then, started decorating things up! I wanted the candle to be soft but vibrant. I used markers to add some light behind and around the candle, and then I did something kinda fun and different … I layered up some embossing powders! I started out by rolling on some adhesive with the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and dusted on Mediterranean embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I re-rolled out more Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and added more embossing powder. But this time I used Blue Silver embossing powder and heat set it over the original layer. This gave some extra depth to my candle. Then, I squeezed on the Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops over the candle to give it some oomph and shine. I also dabbed on some of the Ripened Pumpkin Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flame. Then, I added in a little squeeze of Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops to the inside part of the flame. Here is what the candle looked like, after all this fun treatment!
808_lantern_02_candleflame
      .
To give this card a background and frame it, I decided to use the trusty and awesome Kiss Cut technique. I cut a piece of cardstock, and covered it with strips of 2-1/2″ Double sided “Tear-ific” Tape. Then, I ran this through my die cut machine and pulled away the release paper that was cut out. Here is what it looked like at this stage.
808_lantern_03_kisstechniquetapedie
I rubbed in Night Sky Sparkle N Soft into these negative areas that I revealed by removing the release paper. This is what it looked like at this stage, before burnishing in the Night Sky Sparkle N Soft.
808_lantern_04_kisscuttechniqueglitterAfter I finished burnishing in the Night Sky Sparkle N Soft, I pulled away the rest of the release paper and revealed the actual shape of the frame. I burnished in Ocean glitter into the spaces that were revealed. Here is a close up of what the frame looked like after the kiss cut technique! So pretty 🙂
808_lantern_05_frame
I also stamped out the sentiment in Versamark Ink and sprinkled on Black Detail embossing powder and heat set it. Then, I cut it into a rectangle. I swiped on a bit of Nuvo Glue Pen Fine and dusted on Ocean glitter along the edges. This made it connect to the frame as well. And to make it more fun, I squeezed on some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops along the outsides of the sentiment panel. I also highlighted the “light” in the sentiment with a yellow marker.
808_lantern_06_sentiment
This was a really fun card to make and I love how versatile this stamp set is. Let’s peek at it one more time for good measure!

Festive Lantern & Poinsettias {11.09.2016}

Hi from Designer Chris! All I can say is WOW about the new November stamps! So. Much. Fun! For today’s card, I used the 808 Festive Lantern Stamp Set. I love the lantern, and the poinsettias are perfect too. Let’s check out the card.
808_lantern_01_front
I stamped the lantern stamp with black pigment ink, and then added Clear Detail embossing powder, and heat set it. I die cut the image with an oval die. Then, I started decorating! I colored the candle with a red marker and colored the flame with yellow and orange. You know me, I need some bling! So, after coloring these, I whipped out my new favorite adhesive, the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine, and rolled out adhesive onto the candle. I sprinkled on Collegiate Garnet glitter and made the candle super sparkly! I used the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine again on the flame, and added Evening Glow glitter. I also repeated the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine again on the lantern and sprinkled on Black Ice glitter. As always, I try to not completely cover the image with glue before applying glitter. I want to make sure the image details show through!
808_lantern_02_candle
The 808 Festive Lantern Stamp Set has some really pretty poinsettia images. I colored white cardstock in shades of pink, and then stamped out the poinsettias with Versamark Ink, and heat embossed Glitzy Gold embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut them out. I stamped out a bunch of them so I had a lot to cut out! Then, I paper pieced and layered them to add a lot of dimension to the flowers. After the flowers were all layered up, I squeezed on some Dandelion Yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower centers. Here is a shot from the side showing the dimension.
808_lantern_03_flowers
There is an amazing sentiment with this set. What a wonderful saying, and something we need to all keep in mind. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed Glitzy Gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment with an oval die, and framed it with red cardstock.

Christmas Tag Ornament {10.26.2016}

Hi from Designer Chris! I made an ornament from the new Christmas Tags #1 stamp set. I used the colored digital image, and sized it on my computer to what I wanted. Then, I printed it out on cardstock and die cut it with a circle. Let’s check it out.

805_christmastag1_01_front
For the tree, I squeezed on some Nuvo Glitter Drops Sunlit Meadow. This gave the tree some heft, sparkle, and shine. It was perfect! As you can see in this photo, I tend to fill in most of the image but  not all of it. I think this gives a better look, since I don’t color outside the lines, and I also think it shows the dimension better. What do you think?

805_christmastag1_02_tree
I adhered a lot of glitter using the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine. I drew on the adhesive where I wanted to add glitter, then dusted it on. For the snowflake, I used Princess Elsa Frost glitter from the Frozen glitter collection. This glitter was perfect for the sparkly snowflakes 🙂

805_christmastag1_03_25
I wanted to make it into an ornament and add some gold. So I wrapped a strip of 1/4″ Double sided “Tear-ific” Tape around the edge of the ornament circle. Then, I burnished in some Aztec Gold glitter – my favorite gold glitter. I also whipped out the Nuvo Glue Pen Fine again, and traced around the inner circle, and sprinkled on some Black Ice glitter.

805_christmastag1_04_frame
To make it into an ornament, I die cut a star in red cardstock and layered it behind the circle image. I then added two ribbons together, a solid gold ribbon and some Cream 1/8″ Pull Ribbon. I looped these ribbons through a hole I punched, and tied them together to make a hanger.

805_christmastag1_05_ribbon
After adding the ribbon, the ornament was complete! Here is the whole ornament again.

I know you will love this stamp set – it was really fun to make this ornament.

Elephant Christmas Tree Card [10.12.2016]

Hi from Designer Chris! I have a fun card to show you from the October Sparkle N Sprinkle Release. I made a card using the digital version of the Elephant Christmas Tree stamp set. Let’s check it out.

802_elephanttree_01_frontI printed out two copies the color version of the image on white cardstock. I trimmed down one of the images to a card front size. I fussy cut out all three of the stockings from the extra image, used the Fine Nuvo Glue Pen to roll on some adhesive, then sprinkled on Easy Green semi-transparent glitter on some stocking parts, and Collegiate Garnet glitter on others. I also added some Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft to the tops of the stockings. I used foam adhesive to pop up the stockings a bit and adhered them onto the card panel. Look at all the fun depth and sparkle!

802_elephanttree_02_stockings

I also decorated the top of the tree. I love stars on tops of trees, and this one is really fun! I fussy cut out the tree image from my second print out, adhered glue with the Fine Nuvo Glue Pen to the star topper, and sprinkled on Mimosa Sparkle N Soft. This gave the star some sparkly and soft goodness. So fun!

802_elephanttree_03_star

I also blinged up the tree. More Fine Nuvo Glue Pen was applied, and I bedazzled up the ornaments with glitter. I used Enlightened Blue for the blue ornaments and Collegiate Garnet for the red ones. I also used more Mimosa Sparkle N Soft  on the stars. I popped up the tree with foam adhesive and adhered it over the tree on the card panel. This made the tree pop and sparkle!

802_elephanttree_04_tree

I also decorated up the sweet little elephant. One of my favorite things with the elephant was his teeny tiny heart on his bum. I pulled out my trusty Fine Nuvo Glue Pen again and rolled out some adhesive on his heart. I sprinkled on more Collegiate Garnet, and viola! Shiny, glittery heart!

802_elephanttree_05_heart

I also went to town on the Santa cap on the elephant’s head. I whipped out my trusty Fine Nuvo Glue Pen again and made it sparkly with some Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft. Sparkle N Soft brings a subtler amount of sparkle combined with a softer and poofier texture than pure glitter. It is the perfect embellishment for the cap!

802_elephanttree_06_hatglitter

The last addition to my cute and adorable elephant was to paint his toe nails! I used my favorite adhesive, the Fine Nuvo Glue Pen and sprinkled on Sonic Silver microfine glitter. These made his toes so cute! I also added a bit more sparkle (truly, I can’t ever get enough!) by drawing the Fine Nuvo Glue Pen around the edges of the card panel, and added a strip of 1/4″ Double sided “Tear-ific” Tape around the edges of the card base. I sprinkled more Collegiate Garnet around the edges, and my card was done.

802_elephanttree_07_toes

This was such a fun card to make. The elephant is too cute, and the tree is a lot of fun. I know you will love it too! Give it a try 🙂

Stella Witch [09.28.2016]

Hi from Designer Chris! I LOVE Halloween, and this new stamp set, Stella – Call Me Witch Stamp Set had me at hello! Let’s check out what I made with this really fun stamp set!!.

800_stellawitch_01-front

This Stella stamp is designed so cute and fun! I just had to sparkle up her hair all crazy and sparkly … I stamped her out multiple times on different patterned paper and fussy cut her and paper pieced her all back together. That was my base layer for color. Then, I drew on some Fine Nuvo Glue Pen to lay down adhesive, and sprinkled on Silver Leaf tinsel glitter for her hair. I LOVE it!

800_stellawitch_02-hair

I paper pieced her dress with purple patterned paper, and glittered over it. Busted out the Fine Nuvo Glue Pen again, and sprinkled Hyacinth Velvet glitter over the dress. This made the dress sparkle a lot!

800_stellawitch_03-dress

Her boot buckles were glittered with Peruvian Lily glitter. Let’s check out this fun color!

800_stellawitch_04-buckle

This stamp set has a fun sentiment which I stamped out on orange paper. I die cut out the sentiment in a circle. I framed the sentiment circle by punching out a scalloped circle from cardstock that I had covered with 2-1/2″ Double sided “Tear-ific” Tape. I burnished in Black Ice glitter and layered the sentiment circle over the glittered-up scalloped circle. I also dropped on some Morning Dew Crystal Drops inside the round letters (ya know, remember when you would doodle or fill in those circles while in home room … am I the only one who did that?!?), and dropped some Ebony Black Crystal Drops around the edges.800_stellawitch_05-sentiment

I did some other sparkly additions to the card too (ya can never have enough sparkle!!!). I punched the edge of the card panel, layered on a strip of 1/.2″ Double Sided “Tear-ific” Tape underneath the card panel and then burnished in more Black Ice glitter through the star holes punched by the border. I also ran a strip of 1/4″ Double Sided “Tear-ific” Tape on top of the card panel and used even more Black Ice glitter. Just for even more fun, I squeezed on some Dandelion Yellow and Ripened Pumpkin Crystal Drops. I also stamped out the stars in Versamark Ink and heat embossed them in different colors. I embossed the stars in Daffodil and Black Magic embossing powders.

800_stellawitch_06-border

Here is the full card, showing all the glittery and sparkly goodness. I also put a strip of 1/.2″ Double Sided “Tear-ific” Tape under the left edge of the card and burnished in Tiger Orange Velvet glitter. This anchored the card and added a teeny bit more pop to the card. I layered the entire card front over a scalloped rectangle die cut from black cardstock, and the card was done.

800_stellawitch_07-lastphoto

Halloween will be here before we know it … I hope to see lots of cute trick-or-treaters dressed up on this fun evening. I hope you enjoyed this card – I had a lot of fun making it!

Thanks for stopping by, have a magical day!
