Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Everyone! It is April again back with another card to show you. Christmas is just two days away, but I am saying Happy Valentine’s day! LOL! Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it so here is some inspiration to get you started on your Valentine cards. I used the new release stamp set called Love and Kisses 676.

I used an svg cut file and made the pop up hearts inside the card. I used the small hearts cut out from the inside of the card for the pile that the couple is standing on. I used a punch to cut out the large heart. Sparkle embossing powder EP107 was used on all the red hearts. I also used Sparkle embossing powder on the pink hearts that are popped up, but it is hard to see.

The couple image was fussy cut and pop dotted to the front of the card.

Thank you for stopping by. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy Birthday Friends

I have had so much fun with the new Sparkle N Sprinkle Birthday Friends set.  It is so perfect to add a little fun to birthday cards for those of us getting up in age.

x

I used the image of these sweet little ladies, along with Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities to create this birthday card.  I started with layers of pink and yellow.  The pink layer was run through an embossing folder and Versamark Ink was rubbed across the embossing to bring out the design.  I added strips of 3/4″ “Tear-ific” Tape both vertically and horizontally before layering this on my white card base.  After removing the protective layer, I added Flirt Glitter.

x

I used three different images and cut out the various parts using three different size circle dies.  After coloring these, I layered them on slightly larger circles, die cut from sticker paper.  The remaining exposed adhesive was covered with Teal Velveteen Velvet Glitter.  Dimensionals were used to pop these up on the card front.

x

The lovely bow at the top was created with 3/4″ “Tear-ific” Tape and Flirt glitter.  See the technique here in the SNS Tips and Techniques.

x

Thought I would also share this little tidbit – rumor has it that the elderly lady on the right in this image is named Eunice.  Guess what the “E” stand for in E. Marie?

x

Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome Autumn

The weather was quite chilly this weekend and the cool mornings definitely have the feel of fall.  I love the colors of fall and used some of these on today’s card.

x

I started with the lovely fall image from the new Welcome Autumn set, stamping two but coloring only one.  Both images were cut into strips and woven together.  This was one of those ideas that popped in my head and I just had to try it.  Next time I think I will color both images and maybe ink the edges of each strip.  What do you think?

x

After weaving, the image was adhered to a white card base to hold it together.  Then pieces of burlap and orange and yellow cardstock were layered together and die cut with Spellbinders’ Labels One to create a window.  The inside and outside edges of the burlap were sponged with Rich Cocoa Memento ink, then heat embossed with Teddy Brown embossing powder using the Distressed Embossing Powder techniqueVersamark ink was added to the edges a second time and they were dipped in Bronze Splendor glitter.  Heat was applied to re-melt the embossing powder so the glitter would stay in place.  All of this was popped up over the image.

x

I created the flowers by stamping the largest sunflower from the new Sunflower set.  I stamped it nine times, colored, and fussy cut.  Three images were cut out complete but petals were removed from the others.  After shaping them with a stylus, Cherry Lemonade glitter was added to all the petals, using brushable glue, and they were layered with foam tape to create 3 flowers.  Dimensional glue was added to the centers and covered with Sparkling Coffee Sparkle N Soft.  These were added to the card front, along with loops of corn husk.

x

The sentiment was heat embossed with Teddy Brown embossing powder on a white strip and layered on yellow.  This was tucked under the bottom flower.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think about the weaving.

Friends

Hello Sparkly friends!

This is Emmy with a new post for you today!

This will be my last post as a design team member for Sparkle N Sprinkle. And though it fills me with sadness that all good things must come to an end, just thinking about my time in this amazing team will brighten my days as I go and explore the new challenges in front of me!

So, here it is my final project for Sparkle N Sprinkle {but of course I won’t stop using their amazing products and you will see many more sparkly projects on my blog}:

For my layout I used various pattern paper, chipboard pieces and cardstock {for the flowers}, as well as a lot of sparkly embossing powder and glitters from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

To create the pattern on the background I used a masking template with a mixture of G1030 Fascination Glitter and EP429 Mediterranean Star.

I created the flowers using stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations. I stamped the flowers with Versamark Ink onto white cardstock and heat embossed the set using SNS EP332 Country Blue embossing powder. After the embossing powder has cooled down, I die cut and assembled the blossoms.

For the leaves I used white cardstock, Versamark Ink and EP351 Sage embossing powder.

For my title I used a chipboard frame with the work FRIENDS cut into it. I filled in the letters with EP429 Mediterranean Star.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post!

And don’t forget to join the SNS team in the new October reveal blog hop on 1st of October.
